Please provide alternative (public) education in those areas and close down the madrassas. Can you imagine a school in every village of Sakhhar, let alone NWFP or Baluchistan? What do you think the kids would do when you ban them and do not provide alternative?
Why do you think the Jirga system and private jails still survive in Baluchistan? Because we cannot provide justice and security in those scarcely populated areas. Some kind of system is still better than none. You can call for reforms, banning is not an option.
It amazes me that attitude like this exists. Its like saying "muslims are terrorists" lets get rid of them all. Have you been to any of these Madrassah's yourself? Have you got first hand knowledge of what goes on there? Do you know how many Muslim scholars came from these Madrasahs? Do you know how many abandon children are in these Madrassah's who turns out to be some normal charactors in life?

well that is a stupid approach to close all madrassahs and shoot down all mullahs yes some madrassahs are also responsible in sectarianism and violence but giving punishment to all madrassahs is just stupidity, nothing else coz today becoz of only madrassahs some Islam is left in this nation otherwise we have not left vulgarity, liberalism and selling our conscious today.
there must be proper registration of madrassahs and there must be deeni taalim as well as dunyavi also to upgrade madrassah education system to cope with challenges.

There is no such thing called freedom to kill people. If Taliban were preaching peaceful Islam & in fact were given chance to rule Swat....they had chance to prove everyone wrong & they could have been catalyst for reforming entire society, but they failed. Have you wonder why?

there was a time when madarsas (ya about few hundred yrs ago) used to teach science, maths, geography, astronomy, languages etc etc and also islamic studies...what happened to those kind of madarsas?? If these children are not sent to regular schools, still why can't they be taught these courses like normal kids in islamic settings. What do they learn in today's madarsas??

Madrassahs (with very few exceptions) were ALWAYS the source of rote learning that means no science, math stuff.
Here is the proof. In the last 100's if not 1000's of years not a single major invention or new theory came out of the land of Saudi Arabia.
And Saudi Arabia Makkah Madina were at the "root of Islam and Islamic teachings".

Islamic studies in Madrassahs today are anti-thesis of innovation and clear thinking.
Thus if you mix Islamic studies and science (in madrassah or regular schools), the only thing you will get is what you are getting from Saudi men of today. i.e. suicide bombers and Jihadis.

Banning a madrassah or other outdated practices is a natural process.
If the government says "do not bring Tongas on the Motorway", would you go shoot all the horses? or the tonga wallahs?
I guess you should not.
