Just from my observation from reading that article in Time magazine, I feel as if these children are held back from growing up. Breastfeeding is a safe zone, but once a child reaches an age where they are able to make decisions on their own, such as: what to eat, picking a favorite toy, or choosing friends, they shouldn't be depending on this safe zone anymore.
The thing which put me off the most in the video was the mother mentioning "breasts" and than "sexuality" in the same sentence while discussing "something natural," clearly referring to breastfeeding. Taking pride in breastfeeding and taking pride in your sexuality are NOT and SHOULD NOT be the same thing. EVER! And just to connect the "sexuality" aspect to the two daughters, when they drew a picture of their mom, they not only drew her breasts but also her private area :/.

Those drawings were very disturbing. Wonder what kind of growing up this is when these children are drawing private parts. And not just female private parts but male parts too. Disgusting.
Do you think that the way the mother is posing (hands on hip, looking like a model while the boy is peeking at the camera) has anything to do with the way people are reacting? Do you think people would react differently if the image was portrayed differently?

In the magazine there are also pictures of her holding her son in the normal "baby position" while bfing. Still pretty weird.
my bessfrand from high school claims to have been breastfed up to 2th grade. gross or not, he was one hell of an athlete winning a whole bunch of track and field event at district level for his age group by 16, and has done very well career-wise too.
course now he is a fatass with a big moustache, not even a milk 'tache..
For some even two years is way too long and “gross” to breastfeed your child. I think its personal preference and there is nothing disturbing about it.
I am not sure if people are getting disturb about a 3 years old driking his mother's milk, but the picture of him on a cover of magazine while doing that. First one is a private matter and not our business, second one is a public affair.
Mother is a professional model. You really think she did the cover for the sake of motherhood or for the sake of publicity?
Exactly! they're trying to sexualize something that isn't supposed to be sexual. It's not a coincidence that they picked a model for this cover. She doesn't have the figure of an average "mom".
