Time Machine

Where would you go if you could time travel? Which era would you love to visit?

The moment when I saw her for the first time, and again, and again, and again.

630 CE

:hmmm:

I think I’d travel back into time to the era my parents (particularly my mom) was growing up. I’d like to see how she was as child/teenager and what trials she faced, etc. My aunts are more open about sharing hings with their kids whereas my mom has always selective and even guarded in some ways.

Imagine visiting your parents…before they even became your parents…at a time when parenthood was so far removed from their thoughts. Imagine befriending them at that stage while they have no clue that you are their offspring from the future. Imagine telling them, “Yo…I’m your first-born child from the future…or the 2nd…or the youngest.” Imagine telling them everything you know they will experience in the future as your mom or dad and how they would find you insane. Would you get along better with your parent playing the role of their friend or as their child?

And then, when you return back to present time, imagine how differently you would view them and how it could impact your equation with them.

Definitely want to visit:

Conquest of Makkah (like mentioned by LP)
Conquest of Constantinople (by Sultan Mehmed II Al Fatih in 1453)
Conquest of Palestine (by Salahuddin Ayubi in 1187)

Also on the side note, revisit the year 2010 to change certain decisions made by me.

I would wanna know which ancestor/s embraced Islam, when and how.

Well..my i am in construction field..i want to know..how people built and designed their houses. Especially..how Islamic Spain - architecture came into being..

We had an interesting discussion about time travel some time back. I think first of all I will try to figure out if the time travel will mess something up in my personal life, such as not being able to come back or my actions causing changes similar to the ones shown in Back2TheFuture movies. If yes, I won’t time travel. If not, I will want to travel to the time when pyramids in Egypt were being built and settle the issue if they were built by Jinns working under the command of Hazrat Suleman (AS) or by humans. That is something that has intrigued me for ages. If by humans, I will try to find out how they transported millions of rocks weighing 2+ metric tons each over a distance of thousands of miles, and how they were able to put them up so precisely in place for each pyramid.

Time travel is not possible. It's good only for science fiction movies. Still interesting to read responses.

The question should have been.

Which time frame do you like during your lifetime and why?

My answer:

I love every time I spent in my life. Despite variations in good and bad, still like each and every moment I have lived.

I cannot change those times. And content that the time I spent in the past was meant to be the way it was. No regrets. :)

I like the present time the most. These have been the best few months of my life Alhumdulillah.

May it gets better with time. Ameen.

All my childhood been hearing the lovely bubbly stories of Dadi’s, Nani’s and Parents’ childhoods. I’ll go and verify if those were actually fancy as narrated to us :smokin2:

I would love to go back to Prophet Muhammad's pbuh time and see first hand how life was back then, and meet him

the night my mom had her stroke, and be with her, to prevent that fall from ever happening

and a bunch of other eras, but too many to list

Probably the 90s or early 2000s, when times were more "normal", according to my standards.

Five minutes ago so I can have another go at that fart that had been building up.
