Its really time. He has been in very poor form, that too on Asian grounds.
If the flare is gone, please do yourself favor and retire gracefully.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
I agree.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
I think we should give Younus Khan one more test series before we decide his fate. We decided the fate of Mohammed Yousuf too early, lets not make the same mistake with Younus Khan.

But what if he makes a 100?

Then, it is time to introduce some latest world tools to PCB, such as Microsoft Excel for starters. That they can use to draw charts and stuff and do a trend analysis. ![]()
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
NO
If anyone needs to be discarded (from both test and ODI teams), it is Umar Gul. He is just not penetrative enough in tests or ODIs
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Younis needs to quit ODIs for sure

Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Younis for sure is not having a great 2012 but look at his remarkable consistency in tests b/w 2004-2011 (averaging 50+ each year)

Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
I agree with GoldenAsif here...its umar gul who needs to retire from all forms of cricket...when was the last time you saw him bowl well? umm yeah I don't actually remember...Pakistan desperately need another new bowler in the test and odi team.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Tests? perhaps not, Limited over cricket? for SURE.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
I think he is still needed at test level for T20 and ODI not any more
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Younis > Misbah
So Who needs to retire
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Overall, Younis for sure is a better test batsman than Misbah but the latter also averages a decent 45.68. Infact he’s done quite well over the past 3 years
Tests:
**Misbah (performance by year) ave: 45.68
**HowSTAT! Player Analysis by Year
**Younis (performance by year) ave: 51.69
**HowSTAT! Player Analysis by Year
In ODIs I would say Misbah (no hundreds yet but he’s more consistent with the bat) has been a better batsman than Younis (just my opinion)
**
Misbah (ODIs) - ave: 42.16
**http://www.howstat.com.au/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerYears_ODI.asp?PlayerID=2262
Younis (ODIs) - ave: 32.19

Younis is surely going through a bad form, but we have seen him making a great comeback quite often. He still got some cricket left in him.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Moderator sahib, the thread is about Younis ![]()
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
Younis khan should not retire. He still is quite fit and capable of scoring runs (but only at TEST level). Unfortunately his ODI form is not upto it anymore and we need to build for the future.
Re: Time for Younis Khan to retire from all types of cricket
The thing I really dislike about him he gets out on 0s and low digits scores like 3, 4 or 8.
Instead of going out on 20s and 30s. And he’s increased this tendency in recent years, no doubt attributed to Younis’ aging reflexes. I’ve seen more 0s and ducks from him this year than previous ones.
