Hello everyone, I have another question and am wondering how other brides might have done it. I have seen some people call the mehndi artist to their mehndi event and the brides get their mehndi done there. It seems like a great idea, but logistically would it not be uncomfortable sitting infront of people with freshly applied mehndi on your hands and feet and have difficulty moving? I guess the other way would be to have your mehndi done the night before the mehndi event, which would definitely be easier. The idea of having mehndi applied on the actual event sounds great, but I’m not sure how that would work especially if one is planning on wearing a gharara for example. Any ideas or suggestions as to how people have done it before? Did you end up getting your mehndi done the night before or on the actual event. Thanks for your help!

Usually mehndi dries quickly so you could have it done while at the mehndi party your clothes wont ruin if youre cAreful as by the time you leave the venue the mehndi itself wont be wet still surely obviously you wont remove it! This is where sisters friends etc come in handy!
I had mine put on 2 days before the wedding as my mehndi party was a week before. Same with nikaah just had it done 2 days before but at home! In my pyjamas lol.!
Re: Time for Mehndi Application
Thanks BellaShabba! Did anyone have their mehndi done at the actual mehndi event? How did you coordinate getting your mehndi done?
Re: Time for Mehndi Application
I got my mehndi done at the actual mehndi day. Since I was gonna wear a lehnga I was in a dilemma too. My mehdiwala came around 11 in the morning. I got ready by 6 so by that time it was dry :) get it done early so there won't be any issues of mehndi or your clothes getting ruined :)

Ive seen plenty of girls get it done at their event my neighbour did and by the time the even has finished it was dryish! Your sleeve length on ur outfit is important if ur guna wear long make sure you can roll them up!
So how do you prevent it from fading when you take a shower after the mehndi event or on day of rukhsati ?
Time for Mehndi Application
In my family, the bride gets her mehndi applied the day of the mayoun which is usually the day before the mehndi function
Time for Mehndi Application
Cover your hands with a carrier bag.?! Its not going to fade that much surely, once it dries the mehndi will crumble off it dries within hours i had mine done for my nikaah 2 days before the day showered fine those two days same with wedding,
Re: Time for Mehndi Application
is it neccessary to have mehndi applied on the mehndi day itself? can i do it the day after? do u think brides look better on their mehndi event with henna on or is it ok to b without it!
Re: Time for Mehndi Application
^rosedreams, that's what I was trying to figure out, whether it would look better to have henna applied before or after the mehndi event. I've seen a lot of brides have their mehndi done before the event, and thus have their mehndi event with henna on. I guess its just a matter of coordinating and timing. If there's a large gap between the mehndi event and wedding, then you could always have it done after the event itself.
