Me yet again, with another query about yet another beauty product…
So I went shopping y’day and I bought this ‘Anti-ageing Gentle Glycolic Peel kit’ by the brand ‘Time Delay’ produced by Boots…
Now I am in two minds as to whether to keep this product or to return it and in its place get:
‘Total Turnaround’ or
2)‘Even Better Skin Tone Corrector’
(both products by Clinique)…
Both products from Clinique seem quite amazing and both promise results within 4-6 weeks…But the downfall is the high prices for the products…Whereas this Gylocic Peel Kit cost me half the money of the above products by Clinique…
Sooo what to do? To keep the Glycolic Peel Kit (which by the way promises results within Two weeks of use, amazing or what, but whether its believable or not, that is the question) or to get one of the Clinique products instead??
So to cut the long story short…Have any of you guys used this Glycolic Peel kit or any of that matter? If so, what were your thoughts??
(ps. Both the Glycolic Peel Kit and Clinque products appear to do the same ‘thing’, i.e. make your skin radiant by removing and renewing skin cells…The ‘Even Better Skin Tone Corrector’ actaully promises to remove marks on your skin, so seems like a better product)…
I actually have never really seen this so can't say much. Does the clinique one have glycolic acid in it too? I was on clinique for a while but I found this other perfect peel. It's by Neostrata..you ll find it at shppers drug mart or london drugs if ur in canada. It's a 10% glycolic peel..I have been using it for about a month and really love it..there was a lot of pink spots on my cheeks and they seem to have calmed down. Once I finish with this bottle..I ll move upto 20% glycolic peel cause my skin will be able to tolerate it more. It's a bit pricey (ok ITS PRICEY at $70 :O) but to me, it's worth it cause I am not constantly buying 10-20$ products to see if any of them work. I actually love the entire neostrata line. yay!
^ In my opinion it's better to get a chemical peel done professionally. Sometimes the various commercial products that contain acids are not suited for desi skin. I've been to a dermatologist recently and learned quite a bit about the various characteristics of race and skin type. Desi skin is very sensitive and you have to use the right strength and right type of peel to get results....otherwise it can result in hyperpigmentation and other skin issues.
I personally feel the the commercial products are not strong enough. A dermatologist can recommend a more effective peel.
Whenever you do a peel...keep in mind that it exfoliates your skin and makes it more sensitive to the sun. So, apply a good sunscreen 15-30 minutes prior to going outside in the sun.
yepp i totallu agree with RV.. sometimes chemicals such as glycolic acid can have reverse effects on ur face.. and u might actually end up getting a really bad reaction. Usually aetheticians knw the best quantity to apply on your face because it really does have that intense tingling sensation.
I got them done before my wedding but had to stop after 2 treatments because it didnt suit me. Goodluck!
