I bought this really cute dress yesterday. It's kind of loose and flowyish and the print is really pretty. The border on it is black, so I tried on this black shirt I had to wear underneath since the dress is sleeveless. And then I tried on this pair of black tights that I have that come up like 2 inches above my ankles and it looked realllyyyyy cute (plus I have matching earrings).
But I showed my mom and she's like no you can't wear that. :(
I don't think it looks provocative at all. The dress is like almost down to my knees and it's loose. My parents are kinda strict about how we should dress I mean like we shouldn't wear tight clothes or anything too showy, but I really don't think there's anything wrong with this. I know the tights are TIGHT but really, who is going to be checking out my CALFS?! Does anyone else here think it's not okay to wear tights with a dress like almost down to your knees? If so, please explain more because I'm really having trouble understanding my parents on this one...
Hunnyy i go thru the sameee thing- i dream about dancing and prancing around in those summer dresses, cause i cant wear them lol
But i see where our mothers come from -- tights u can see the shape of your legs, but the idea of tights to them is u wear it under something, or known as 'underwear'. PLus, a lot of tights (esp in the sun) you can see the skin, there are often see-thru. Now that its in fashion, they dont seem to understand lol. My way of getting around it is skinny jeans - altho you can still see the shape of ur legs, its easier to get away with it then tight tight tights lol
I know your mom might not have the same fashion sense, but she really means well. Next thing you know an aunty that saw you wearing tights will go around telling everyone u weere wearing a mini dress with no tights ... they like to throw things WAYYY out of proportion lol
