tighter security at her school?

Would a 25 million rupee security haul help you stay in Pakistan once u had made up ur minds to leave the country.

My kids school have messaged saying they will have tighter security etc all costing 25 million rupees ( obviously all branches of ROOts). So would this change ur.mind or not. What exactly does that mean?

Re: tighter security at her school?

I would want/demand more details about this. Like what do they mean by tighter security controls? More guards outside? Alarm systems in place? Sturdy gate areas?

If they were substantial changes then perhaps I would reconsider moving. Or give it another thought at the very least

Re: tighter security at her school?

Security is as good as the security guards, and the problem with Pakistan is that one cant trust the security guards themselves. I am not trying to highlight negatives, but after all Salman Taseer was assassinated by his guard himself.

Re: tighter security at her school?

no matter how good the security. its hard (i personally think impossible) to stop a group of men/women hell bent on killing and dying. which is why no amount of promised security would change my mind.
personally im not a fan of the idea of turning schools into panic rooms/centers … nor do i like the idea of my childrens being asurrounded my armed men/guards :bummer: … but i understand its unavoidable in some parts of the world and certainly better then the alternative of being gunned down.
as to what it all means is something you need to ask the school system.

Re: tighter security at her school?

as some one said before. Think about moving to IslamAbad.

Re: tighter security at her school?

you know what ? after diverting the WHOLE nation towards better security of schools those *&^%& taliban are going to target something else. I would not buy that seriously

Re: tighter security at her school?

As it is the schools are an institution for standardized outdated indoctrination of a singular worldview that limits creativity and individual autonomy in the name of discipline and “superior education”. Now adding prison-institution like security worth 35M PKRs will contribute to a very different school going experience for a child and instill a deep-rooted sense of impending danger and insecurity and a constant need to feel safe and easily threatened. I can not think of if being healthy in any way.

to me school is not about books, and uniforms and regimentation. Its about providing a platform for a stimulating, natural
learning environment assisted by teachers. I hate schools anyways for ruining children’s minds, and prefer home schooling than institutional learning, and this security thing will just fool someone for “safety”. And parents are suckers at it.

Re: tighter security at her school?

Was going to post in your other threads but will post all here.

You can give it a try but i’d listen to the people above in the know who say it really depends.

If you decide to move probably plan ahead and apply for jobs, get information on visas and find out where you can settle. what school you want your children to go to in the UK. There are good schools there and lot of good Islamic schools. Once you have all that sorted work harder on the parent in laws. Start the conversation with them early so they get used to the idea and are more open to it.

whatever you do plan early.

There was a program on BBC asia radio on immigration laws in UK and they had a lawyer come in and speak. BBC Asian Network - Nihal, Immigration lawyer Harjap Bhangal His name is Harjap Bhangal.
Here is his fb page where he often has videos on immigration issues.

I listened to the show because I thought maybe it can help you if you decide to immigrate and want info for your husband.
Ok at 1 hr 46 min or around 1 hr 40 min there are some people who call in who have spouses from EU and abroad. Some earning others not. He answers the question well and recommends people check out this site for updated rules on spouse visa.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/immigration-rules-appendix-fm-se It also talks about the English test spouses can do.

It is easier if someone is resident in EU but still not too hard if spouse is outside of EU if you start early.

Here are more of the rules
Law Firm Limited. Immigration. Spouse Visa - Requirements

Naturalisation process to become citizen after 3 years Naturalisation - UK Citizenship and Naturalization

So moving abroad would also be a long term commitment. Maybe you can come back after 3 years or you can stay longer depending how it is.

If you move to Islamabad you would still be far from parents. Not as far as the UK but you won’t be living with them and will that be acceptable to them?
What about Lahore or Karachi

Also rules have changed for bringing parents to UK. You need to show they are physically and financially dependent on you and have to prove that for 1 yr they have been living with you because of this dependence and how you have helped them.

So write a list of pros and cons based on what people have said here, what your friends, parents and in laws say and what you both think. Then decide.

Re: tighter security at her school?

My thoughts exactly.
