Tickets to Islamabad from Chicago

so i am planning to visit pak in december. any tips on finding good deals for tickets around that time? so far the tickets seem to be averaging ~$1800

Re: Tickets to Islamabad from Chicago

**its too early to look for good fares. deals come about a couple of months before your departure. so look around in late Sept or early October for a good deal. i'll tell u how much its gonna cost now at the lowest fare:

its $1537 by Gulf Air for travel from Dec 1 to dec 31

Re: Tickets to Islamabad from Chicago

yes, i am also seeing $1537 right now. really, i did not know that you could get good deals a few months before for pak.

so could it go any lower than $1537 in sep/oct for a trip to isl?

Re: Tickets to Islamabad from Chicago

**yes, my experience tells me that it will come down to say $1200 range ONLY if you go like around Dec 1, before the High Season kicks in which is around Dec 5...seats wud be hard to get past Dec 15 for a lower price.

Pakistan destinations are at a disadvantage because most western airlines do NOT go to Pakistan and they are the ones who offer better fares. i'm from India and i get fares to Delhi as low as $950.**

and international flights

www.kayak.com

**one needs to know how to manipulate search in order to get the lowest fares, for example…

-sometimes, connecting flight is cheaper than the direct non stop
-traveling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
-taking the afternoon flights
-flying into and out of bigger airport [like LAX as opposed to ONT]
-flying through Airluine’s hub**
