Does anyone have any information about TIC?
How do you deal with a child who has TIC? Any personal experience? I don’t even know what it stands for, or typical signs other than uncontrolled blinking etc.

Re: Tic
Thanks, can you post rest of this as well? 12 months? But I've seen this for more than that already, kid is under 13. How do you get it and how do you help it?
Re: Tic
You see, I would love to answer that question but google is not that helpful. I would leave this question to some qualified doctor to answer. Cheers.

Re: Tic
Tic is a disorder where the patient twitches parts of its body. A famous example would be tourette's disorder where a person keeps twitching different body parts and also have verbal tics. A perfect example of tourette's would be the girl in the movie exorcist. Patient with tourette usually break into cursing and grunting. By thw way i have never seen anyone with tourette's myself, but i have seen alot of people wth tics. Alot of these children also have Attention deficit disorder or obsessive compulsive disorder.
I think a disorder in dopamine is usually implicated.
These people are treated with anti psychotics and other drugs for example risperidone and haloparidole. Pimozole is the treatment for tourette's.
But if you suspect it in someone, they need to go see a doctor and its a pretty tough diagnosis. Not everyone that twitches their eye, or keeps moving their cheeks or keep blinking, or moving their lips have this disease. These people usually have uncontroleable twitching.
Tic does not stand for anything.
