any ideas about tibet snow? theres an existing thread on it i believe.
Re: tibet snow
HunnyB,
Accept and embrace your skin color the way that God has made it. It is a well known fact that darker skin ages better than fair skin.....my dermatologist also says that. Of course, this also depends on how well one takes care of their skin too.
These creams....doesn't matter if it is Tibet Snow, Fair and Lovely, Archies, Fairness Snow....are not going to make a dramatic difference in your skin color.
The important thing is to have healthy, clear, and glowing skin. And one need not be fair to achieve this. Simply eat healthy, exercise, drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep, and use appropriate skin products.
If you have spots on your face that you want to remove, it's best to consult a dermatologist who can give you prescription strength hydroquinone creams to fade spots. Dermatologist recommended products will be more effective than any Tibet Snow from some bazaar.

thanks redvelvet
Re: tibet snow
wow ... whats tibet snow? occasionally some pakistani friends mention it ... but never seen it... is it a kind of foundation?
Re: tibet snow
my nani ordered me to start using it and as per her analysis my skin shall become fresh and pimple free.......... i don't like the smell :(
Hunnyb, do you realize that some of these “fairness” creams can be dangerous to skin? They can make the skin more sensitive to the sun and can lead to the development of skin cancer if one does not wear sunscreen during sun exposure. ![]()
CB,
Tibet Snow is a cream that is miraculously supposed to make one’s skin “fair.” Other examples include Fair and Lovely, Fairness Snow, Stillman’s Fairness Cream, Archies, etc.
This is what Tibet Snow looks like:
The packaging alone is enough to make me wary of such a product.
And here’s an alternative:
Re: tibet snow
haha that's such a funny name....tibet snow......does it guarantee making your skin as white as the snow on top of the Himalayas? :D
Re: tibet snow
Tibet snow, Fair n Lovely and all these things are just to help lighten your skin color. But here is the problem: they dont lighten your skin safely...if there is such a thing.
Like Redvelvet suggested, see a dermatologist for prescription strength solutions to help lighten marks or take care of acne you might have.
These creams do more damage then good. They're NOT good for you no matter what anyone says.
Use a good sunscreen, drink more water, take daily vitamins, decrease grease and fast food from your diet, etc. Maybe even switch your skin care around a bit.
Re: tibet snow
My nani used to use it and i would use hers sometimes. I remember loving the smell of it and it didnt apparently harm nani's skin at all since she seemed to have gorgeous skin till she passed away. I doubt it did anything for her color though. I would stay away from it if you have acne or pimples though since those can be easily irritated.
i have never used this snow...but i really love its smell...one of my aunties uses this everytime before she goes into the sun...i have myself seen her...her face was really like gorgeous white and she was around 50s..
Re: tibet snow
Tibet Snow was popular in our family buzarg lougs too... like my daadi, phoppo etc used it till the time i remember them. That would be a must item in their homes, travel bags etc. And their all clothes will have that smell in them.
I guess it really has some magical powers or else it wont be so popular. And to tell u truth all those whom i seen were using it, had really good skin.
Hunny if u find it, do give it a try. I know the smell is kind of too strong but use it when you are at home. Dont make your Nani sad :(
Re: tibet snow
I was in Pakistan for a wedding, it was hot, very hot. I used my english make-up, by the end of the evening the make-up had all but disappeared and I looked like someone had just pulled me out of a pressure cooker.
We came home, a SIL looked just as she had before we had left the house. I asked her how comes her make-up looks as fresh as when she put it on, she said its always like that and couldn't explain it.
One day by chance, I discovered why. It was bcos she used this "Tibet Cream" which was foundation coloured cream, it stayed on her face all day long and kept the make-up in place too.
She encouraged me to try it too, but I didn't dare bcos once I tried some pakistani foundation powder and it stung my face!
ha ha!
