its officially 31st of dhul hijja for us as well here in bahrain....
but we havent heard any apologies or any such statement from saudi authorities regarding the issue....
and all this time i thought we were right.... :(

Well then let me redo my appointments in Outlook, and move all my appointments for next month a day ahead. Oh wait, I don't use the Hijri calendar for anything other than Eid and Ramzan, and neither do you.

A note of importance ... When we go out to the shops to buy a watch or a mobile phone we will hunt around for the best make. But when it comes to matters of religion we trust, as we should ... but we should have enough of a mind to learn and read up about things ... try to understand the topics at hand. If after doing some reading we find that we are totally perplexed then okay we don't need to go that far. But if we have the capacity to learn about key topics about Islam then we should make it our business to do so. InshaAllah when enough people are trained in the Islamic sciences then there will be fewer chances of making mistakes, both on a personal level and on an Ummah level.
