My 5 week old has a white coat on her tongue and tiny white dots on her lips, I presume its thrush from what I’ve read up. I will be taking baby to peadiatrician tomorrow but I’m worried. Any moms whose babies had this? What treatment worked for you? How long does it take to go away. Baby doesn’t seem to be in discomfort though.
Re: Thrush treatment
It cud be milk or theish. Mine had it at 2 weeks i think.
First way to chk is take a wash cloth and wipe itgently on the tongue. If white stuff comes off then its not theush n if it doesnt come off then it cud be.
For thrush both u n baby need treatment esp if u r bf.
Thrush treatment
My baby had thrush at one month. The doctor gave him medicine that he took orally 4 times a day for 10 days. It was a liquid in a dropper. It cleared up after that. If you are breastfeeding you will need to apply the medicine to your nipples as well so you don’t pass it back to your baby.
Re: Thrush treatment
happens with formula fed babies. i was advised an.oral.gel. alhamdolillah worked for hr. make it sure you wipe her tongue anyway after her milk intake.
