Re: Throwing makeup away
@ Sara: you dont have to throw away your mascara , if it hasnt dried out yet …
@ Reha: well , I usually wash them every week … but the eyeshadow one just gets washed every other day .. coz i use wet brush to do the eyeshadow .. so instead of just wetting it , I wash it off and then use it ![]()
But someone was telling me , I wash my brushes abit too often and it might damage them … so i guess the ideal time and depending on how much you use them is perhaps once a month or once in three weeks at least …
Re: Throwing makeup away
I find it really hard to throw away makeup. The only time I do, is if they are very old and I hardly ever use them (just the cheap ones anyway, hehe).
I wash my brushes after each use. For those who wash there's every few weeks/ months or so, do you carry on using those same brushes for that duration, then wash them? Do they not clog up?
Re: Throwing makeup away
Reha - I have only worn foundation once in my whole life and that was on my brothers wedding, so that brush has only been washed (and used) once. Generally you should wash your foundation/concealer brush after each use - but in my opinion this isn't always practical. I'd go with once every couple of days to be honest if you're a regular foundation wearer.
Make up brushes I will wash once every few weeks as again I don't use them that often. If I am doing someones make up for them I will always wash my brushes beforehand, and then again once I am done. Generally I would wash them every two weeks or so if you use them daily on yourself. If you've done something using dark colours you will need to wash the brush before using it again as you don't want that colour to transfer when you come to do your next look.
CB - washing your brushes too much can damage them. I've not tried applying eye shadow wet - does it still dry as if you had applied it dry?
Re: Throwing makeup away
Amor , yes it does dry out within a minute or so .. but wet brush controls the eyeshadow more … and gives me a vibrant colour … I use dry brush when i want to use lighter color tones … but if I need a darker /deeper shade , wet brush is you answer ![]()
Re: Throwing makeup away
^ Cool, will try that next time. Thanks for the tip :)
Sounds a bit weird but if it has really pretty packaging I tend to keep it just to look at :D
Re: Throwing makeup away
^ I have that problem too - I buy something and don't want to use it if the packaging is particularly nice lol. I bought a LE Christian Dior flight palette in Peach and just love the packaging so much that I find it difficult to use it too much!!
Re: Throwing makeup away
i don't usually throw them
i just give them to others
^ I think some of my old make up finds its way to my niece ;-). I also find it hard to let go of make up because as we get older we can buy better products so they last more than anything. I dnt wear it as much which also means it builds up. Bodyshop eyeshadows are quite nice I got their cubes and still have never used them.
Talking of Dior mascara its the one expensive mascara my sis got lol well for me it as expensive and I didnt think it was all that great. Id prefer bourjois mascara anyday!
