Throwing a tantrum

Re: Throwing a tantrum

good point muzna.

Re: Throwing a tantrum

yes, what is up with this?? my son is only 3.5 weeks old but hey, anytime he fusses, stick a bottle in his mouth! its called overfeeding and then vomiting, folks. relax! i usually just hold him and rock him for a few minutes and he calms down instantly. when he’s hungry, its obvious he’s hungry and its very different from his i’m stressed/bored/want my mommy cry.

love your comment, muzna!

Re: Throwing a tantrum

Distract, distract distract!!!!! We havent had any majot tantrums yet though... But the little ones are always sorted out by distraction.... I really find it rude when parents think its ok to disrupt an entire group of ppl at a gathering just cuz their kid is having a tough time for whatever reason.... Leave the room folks. I do it.... Its common courtesy. No one needs to hear ure kid wailing. Its annoying and iritating.

Re: Throwing a tantrum

I agree with you khawa.....it is annoying and irritating....especially if it is an event that is not critical for that person......like this happened at a nikah.....kid starts having a tantrum because the toy that they are playing with broke and now they want a new one that is not available.......there's no distracting her so what do they do? let her have a cry......right there and then......in the very front of the room about two rows away from the groom and the imaam. what's up with that??? sheesh....excuse yourself and your child from the room! (eventually the guy did pick up the kid and walk away but not until he was faced with more than just a couple of dirty looks from those seated around him)

The jummah incident that I mentioned was a bit more complicated since the we were already seated in the over-spill area of the mosque and this lady would have had to go and stand in the scorching sun for an hour with two kids if she got up. There really was nothing she could do.

Re: Throwing a tantrum

thanks sgc....I'm glad that you see it this way......
I was half expecting some readers to say "My namaz is just as important......etc., etc." in response to what I posted.

Re: Throwing a tantrum

I cant add to that. Niks and I are blessed with two daughters who never ever did that. Our older one gets stuck on something sometimes and keeps coming to us with that, but she always whisper or take us to one side and ask.
