Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

While she’s collecting praise for entire world for standing against the barbaric attacks and trying to spread education not only in Pakistan but in the other countries as well, people from Pakistan dont give up a chance to stand against her very vocally. Results derived from the conspiracy theories. And this time its not Taliban, its a “school” federation for private schools.

Its really hard to know who’s the real enemy?! Taliban or those who were supposed to spread education?!

****ISLAMABAD: **An association of Pakistani schools held an “I am not Malala” day on Monday, condemning young Nobel peace laureate Malala Yousafzai for what it called her support for controversial novelist Salman Rushdie.Education campaigner Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban in October 2012 but recovered and went on to win this year’s Nobel peace prize. The 17-year-old has been hailed around the world for standing up for girls’ rights to education, but the response to her in Pakistan has not been universally positive, with some seeing her as a “Western agent” on a mission to shame her country. The All Pakistan Private Schools Federation last year barred its members from buying Malala’s memoir I am Malala because of what the group said was its “anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam content.”
It said the book, written with British journalist Christina Lamb, was too sympathetic to British novelist Rushdie.Rushdie in 1989 became the target of an Iranian fatwa, or religious edict, calling for his murder for allegedly blaspheming Islam and the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in his book The Satanic Verses.Mirza Kashif Ali, the president of the schools’ federation, said in a statement it was “clear that Malala has nexus with Salman Rushdie and Taslima Nasrin, and also has alignment with Salman Rushdie’s ideological club”.
“We severely condemned the chapter of the book in which Salman Rushdie’s book has been mentioned as freedom of expression by Malala while referring to father’s views,” Ali said.He said walks, seminars and press conferences were held to highlight the “I am not Malala” day.Bangladeshi author Nasrin was forced to flee her homeland in 1994 after radical Muslims accused her of blasphemy over her novel Lajja (Shame), in which a Hindu family is persecuted by Muslims.Malala’s book describes her life under the Taliban’s brutal rule in Swat valley in the mid-2000s, hints at her ambition to enter Pakistani politics and even describes her father’s brief flirtation with extremism as a youngster. The book describes public floggings by the Taliban, their ban on television, dancing and music, and the family’s decision to flee Swat along with nearly one million others in 2009 amid heavy fighting between the militants and Pakistani troops.Malala, who lives in Britain where she went for treatment after being shot, was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October alongside India’s 60-year-old Kailash Satyarthi for their championing of children’s rights.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

[edit] idiots.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

but why are they criticizing Malala? Can someone shed a light on this?

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

Don’t tell me they celebrated it in schools and by those who are supposed to teach values to new generation :smack: Then we say why our society is getting intolerant.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

I think the article sheds light itself. They are criticizing her for her book written by Christina lamb and suspecting her connections with Salman Rushdie and Tasleema Nasreen who have mentioned derogatory remarks against Prophet mohammad (PBUH) in their books.
But one think they didnt mention in their press conferences is the conspiracy theory that malala is western agent and all that bullet wound etc etc was drama. If you take a survey in diversified Pakistanis, you'll notice its a very popular thought.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

there is not any known federation and no schools involved
Small piece of any hater's effort
Media picked it as usual

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

She wrote a Book? I didn't know. I even didn't know that the Pakistanis are thinking she's an Agent of the West.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

Her book says nothing of the sort. It was very well written. The young girl has done nothing but try to represent Pakistan to the best of her abilities.

This what you don’t see. This is Malala. This is the Muslim girl that has become a symbol for the West against the Taliban but see what she says about the Taliban.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

i read it and i was like...what the hell.

again, any incidence no matter how pathetic it is cannot and should not reflect overall society..bigots are present in every society but i do feel that our societal makeup in Pakistan has a much bigger % of bigotry-based pockets than most of the societies around the globe ... in a society

where lawyers celebrate a killer so openly and passionately ( salman taseer killer) everything is possible..

where 2 major mainstream political parties (PTI and PMLN) support negotiating with terrorists animals for so long and call these animals "our own people", anything is possible

where every incidence is a conspiracy theory (jews did 911, Indians did mumbai attack themselves, laden was never killed, mallala shot herself etc), anything is possible

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

I can bet those who criticize or take an extra step to pick on her for the book have never read it themselves. Thats the irony. Nobody wants to dig out and found the facts. They just believe what they want to. And thats exactly how conspiracy theories flourish

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

And you can openly blame the Mullahs for that. Pure and simple. The book says nothing against Muslims, the Quran or Pakistan. She is a patriot and I feel happy for her.

But I for one can not stand the blatant racist white man's burden that comes into play with the Malala story.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

World says
Courageous Malala is the identity of Pakistan: Merkel[TABLE=“class: media media–left one-half palm–one-whole, width: 202”]

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, “is the identity of Pakistan.”

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

NO NO NO NO

Jhoot boltie hai yae masi merkel…

i object my lord Uncle Qureshi

My identity is Mumataz qadri

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

thats pretty nasty exaggeration you did here.
Most of the people in pak dont consider malala or qadri their hero.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

so you are equating malala and qadri?

now qadri shd never be a hero .. he is a murderer but we saw educated lawyers treating him like a king and a retired justice begged to become his lawyer..so that says something about our society..

if the educated portion of our society who is supposed to follow and protect the law is treating a murderer like a hero, i can only imagine what uneducated emotional masses will be thinking of qadri

but why are you equating malala with qadri... what has malala done not to be our hero?

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

Maybe not Malala, but you can’t say that about Qadri. MQ is hero of 75% (who in recent poll opposed changing blasphemy laws). And that is not limited to illiterates masses, but even education ones, too. Ex CJ of LHC was one of the guy who was defending MQ’s actions. That says a lot about the society…

Blasphemy is bad news. Worse — horribly so — for those at the sharp end of it. But, for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth and beating of chests, the blasphemy issue isn’t going anywhere.

Reason A is the one few like to talk about, and that some may only vaguely be aware of: the blasphemy issue is not a Taliban cause; it, in large part, flows from the radicals among the so-called moderates, the otherwise warm and fuzzy and likeable Barelvis.

Which kinda complicates things, even though everyone knows reductionism is so much sexier. It complicates things because the principal agitators on blasphemy pre-date the Taliban, and Zia too. And everyone knows that all that ails this country on the religion front flows from Zia and the Taliban.

But the Taliban are usually quiet on blasphemy. Ever hear one of their ever-changing spokesmen talk about blasphemy or cheer on the killers? Not really. Not surprising either.

Blasphemy victims are disproportionately the marginalised: often poor, mostly the wrong denomination and always vulnerable.
The scholars can explain the intricacies, but, loosely, it comes down to denominational differences in focus and emphasis in some areas, like intercession.

So what do you do when you realise you’ve got a big religion problem and it has little to do with the Taliban? You don’t talk about it.

But not talking about it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its own, quirky effects. When blasphemy is in the news, the so-called moderate Muslim faction gets a boost. It becomes more visible. And that doesn’t sit well with the Taliban.

So the T tend to do something to grab the headlines back. Which leaves the rest of us that much less safe.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

I think you did.

I made them 2 extremes.

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

how is malala an extreme? for god sake Monk. She has won us a nobel prize and i can tell you from my own experience that everywhere i go (i travel a lot for my work) people recognize Pakistan because of this girl called malala

and based on what shamraz noted above, mumtaz qadri is hero of 75% of pakistanis.... speechlesss

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

Malala & Qadri , both are now identities of Pakistan
Malala is our face for our struggle against the bad
Qadri is our face of jahalat and zalalat

Re: Thrill for Malala haters : An anti-malala day day observed!

Private Schools Federation....you mean the same schools where a poor kids in fact even a middle class kid cant go because of their high fees and "donations" (which runs in 100s of thousands). Yeah they know the problems of Pakistani society right.

Nothing but PR campaign. Easiest way to increase your customer base in Pakistan is either give galiaan to west (specialy amreeka) or chant "aap per jaan bhi qurban ya Rassool Allah" (while skipping all 5 prayers...)
