hey Cawalk, i was pretty much saying the same thing as you, just in a different way! apparently it was introduced by turks and people from iran when they came to india,i think before the mughal era but not 100% sure on that.
and i just meant to point out that salwar kameez is traditional in pakistan and afghanistan,but not in india where i think the sari is more the traditional dress.
the lady in the picture is actually a teenage girl, and the hair on her forehead, i know it looks weird but it was a fashion when the pic was taken. i think she looks a bit surly in the picture cos maybe she’d never had her picture taken before.
