Everyone’s playing politics over Taliban and drones. Everyone including PTI, PML(N), MQM, ANP, PPP milked the issue before elections and no one is willing to do anything about it now.
It is quite clear that terrorists can be replaced easily. Drones only increase the recruitment intensity and are a great marketing tool for Taliban. Do you really hurt an organization by killing a few of the members where the major goal of the members is to get killed and enjoy the 72 hoors?
It is also quite clear that Mush had a deal with US for allowing them to use drones in Pakistan and Pakistani military cannot go back on that deal.
Eventually, US would leave and we’ll be in a much greater mess than we are as of now. Drones only help US in the short term but would hurt us in the long run.
PTI and PML(N) should stop behaving like opposition parties and consider devising a serious solution. Serious talks with military leadership is a per-requisite for any talks with taliban.
