Does thread and motifs have any formal wear? If so please post some ideas? My cousin is getting married in july this year and I am interested in doing something formal but not heavy heavy clothes as they sit in my closet for years to come and go out of fashion. I am doing one heavy dress for shaadi and thinking about doing two somewhat formals from thread and motifs for mehndi and valima. Please suggest some designs and color combos?

are you able to go to one of their outlets? I was just in Lahore a few weeks ago, and got 1 outfit from there that I would describe as semi-formal. Its not really fancy/formal, but its something I could wear to a mayoun or dholki. But, I also made an outfit for my cousin that she can wear at a wedding, because they adding a sequined bodice, and the same sequin patti on the sleeves and at the bottom of the dress. You need to visit their outlet to see what they have. I went to the MM Alam Rd outlet, and I loved their stuff there. They have a sign on the door that says they dont take orders to stitch clothes, but we asked them, and they did it for us (maybe cause we ordered 12 outfits). Cause we wanted to copy the exact style that they had their samples in. But it was about Rs 4000 to get each outfit stitched...so it is a lot.
the outfit I made is grey and navy blue, the one I made for my cousin is light pink and dark pink, my other cousin made one that is black and white, and I ordered for my sister-in-laws as well.....one was pink and grey, one was sea green and maroon, and the other was brown and ferozi.
But my suggestion is to check out their outlet.

I loove their outfits...Im thinking do they cost exactly in outlet how they have prices on the site? It would be nice if i can get some discounts?!?!

wats their website? they dnt sell the readymade available at the outlet :( i think they probably sell them online?

I love their stuff :@: I personally wouldn't wear it to a family member's wedding/walima. Engagements, dinners, family events is fine but I don't think they're "fancy" enough to wear to a wedding. Having said that i've only been to threads and motifs 1.5 ago in Faislabad and Islamabad. They might have fancier stuff now. Recently I wore a beige outfit from threads and motifs which was bought by my aunt ( she posts my clothes over since I dont live in Pak). Everyone complimented my outfit. I'll be honest and personally I was really happy with the suit. It had a lehgna with it ( plain beige chifon), long kameez, long sleeves, a longggg dopata. The suit had a touch of pink which looked really nice, elegant yet simple.

I want to buy some of their stuff bit I live in NY. They have a seller in NY but I dontknow if that person has stitched clothes. Seems like if u order online they send a stitched suit. Has anyone ordered online? ARe they reliable?

I ordered from them online. They are totally reliable, and the service is fast. You get exactly what you ordered, and they are usually better in real life than in the pictures. But there are a few things with ordering online, first, you cant give your measurements, you just have to order small, medium or large. Its not really a big deal, I just ordered a medium, and had to have the chest opened a bit, but it fit my mom really well, and my cousin ordered a small and the fitting was perfect for her. And anyway, now loose, flowy clothes are in fashion, so it works. The other thing is, they dont have formals on line, they only have party wear and casual, and their prices on line keep going up, even for the same suits that have been on the site since last summer. On their website, when you go to shop on line, the first few rows of outfits are usually the newest additions.

^^ hey saimab i was thinking to order online, so are they definetley reliable? i was thinking order a medium myself im a size 10-12 in the UK so i think it should be ok?

they are totally reliable. I received my order when they said I would get it (I cant remember now how long it took, cause its been about a year since I ordered it). I think a medium would fit you properly. I would have given you the exact measurements of the medium outfit, but I left the outfit at my parents place after I got married, and now I live in a different city. But from the size you have mentioned, I think the fitting should be just fine.

^^ thanks saimab thats alot of help, also did u pay by credit card? thats the only part i get scared off!! i ordered HSY lawn online and thank god it came, otherwise i was afraid of money being wasted!!

yah, I did use a credit card to pay, but my outfits came on time, and they were what I ordered. But you are right, that is usually what Im scared of when using a credit card online!
