I never said we should start shooting at people randomly. I said that lethal force should always be a last resort, but in such a situation where a mob is out of control and non lethal means are no longer viable, then shooting to kill is justified.
And the intent isn’t to kill everyone in the mob necessarily, its to break their momentum and force them to desist. If killing or seriously wounding a single person among the mob is enough to disperse the others, then that is all that is required.
