Thousand Islands

I’ve been shopping around looking for family packages for a mini-trip to the thousand islands and I thought maybe some guppy here may have gone to them or have an idea where is the best deal available in the market.

If you have no idea what it is, here is a sneak peak.
Thousand Islands

I’ve been there and its maginificent! The trip’s length varies on what you want to do. I boarded from Kingston and I went for a 1.5 hour trip. The boat sucked but the view was super duper. We didn’t see all the islands, and I dont recommend you do that. Our trip cost about $14. They jacked it upto $15.45 for the 1.5hr. There was also a 3.5hr trip that takes you through the islands only. No getting off on the islands. It was $21 for adults and $10.50 for kids. I went on the 3.5hr one acouple of years ago and it was neato. (Better than the 1.5). The prices fluctuate with the selection of minor features.

There was also another boat. It was either for 5 or 6 hours. It took you further away and I also think - onto some of the sites. I wouldnt recommend this as its damn boring! I got bored on the 1.5 trip, imagine a 6 hour trip.

1000 Islands is a destination that can be enjoyed in less than 1 day. When you go to Kingston you’ll see the “BIG APPLE”. Its literally a big apple. I have a photo lying around and I’ll post it if I get to it. If you’re travelling with kids - its great as they have little bunnies hopping around on the premises. Its actually a pie store that wanted to attract tourists.

FYI, they include pebbles in those 1000 islands.

Cool place, make sure to check out BoldtCastle.

.. great place.. once stopped at the place while comig from Montreal.. small islands with houses looked heavenly in mist..

I remember being excited about visiting the "Big Apple" on our numerous trips to Montreal and Kingston back when I was a kid. It used to look so huge. Last year on our way to Cape Breton we stopped by for a few mins. Surprisingly, it didn't look half as big. I wonder if it shrunk. :-D Coco, if you're going with your family, make sure you take your nephews there. (Especially if they love apple pies!)
Thousand Islands is an awesome place. hskhan covered pretty much everything.

Share pics when you get back!

And here I thought it was only the name of a salad dressing. hehe Thanks for the lesson. grin

Munni :hehe:

Coconut go on a REAL vacation
