Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
Biden is not as hell bent on attacking Waziristan as Obama, you could tell from his tone. However, he made it very clear that if they have 'credible' intelligence that OBL is there, they will take him out. I think Biden did a much better job, being the expert on foriegn policy than Obama.
Palin on the other hand is a complete dunce when it comes to foreign policy and whatever she said today shouldnt be taken seriously because it was all parroting.

that is all true, folks. the issue is how to put arrogance and greed in check.

Palin is hardcore Jews supporter and she was very clear of that during her speech as well.
On the other hand both also stated that both Nuclear Pakistan and Iran are dangerous to the world. both can attack India and Israel.... Based on these statements things do look murky for both countries.

in the case of pakistan, we should make it clear any attack or continued support for militants within pakistan will get a reply.
the fact is that they have been allowed to wage a terror campaign using certain fata based groups along with reinforcements provided by the afghan army. the fact that this has all come out and pakistani politicians of the last two governments have been unable to get offended by this has encouraged this rhetoric and approach from the aggressors.
on the bigger picture pakistan needs to demonstrate that its strategic weapons systems can defend the nation against any threat. it needs to show as early as possible in subtle language that the aggressors will not walk away without losing chunks of whatever it holds dear. india must be encouraged to see the danger it is putting itself into by joining this campaign. israel must know that it will not be on any map.
the US may have developed a new missile defence system or something along them lines which needs a subtle counter. the strategic weapon systems are vitaly important. lives of soldiers and small acts of terror do not worry the leaders ganging up against pakistan but the assurance that pakistan can take out battleships stationed anywhere in asia will put the brakes on
if pakistan can show that it can and will defend itself the western media will then help pakistan. so far it hasnt done so because it can smell blood. the storm of war that was brewing a month ago was blacked out completely, really amazing considering that lesser news regarding pakistan has made it to 'breaking news' status. there has been absolutely no mention of the US providing support to militants as accused by even the pakistan amy.
Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
on a personal level and because most of us are living in countries that are involved, we must start to convey just how much we are against this policy towards pakistan.
if they kick us out we'll all meet up pakistan:)

That is true!
Slight difference in the two seems that McCain would continue what Bush administration has done: Lip service against AlQaida while they fled on bikes in the mountain while bomb everyone else out in the name of "suspects". Obama seems to be clear on that, he may go "all out" but will remove the wanted people more quickly than last 6 years.
McCain would like to keep the war ongoing almost forever just like Bush did it. I don't think these guys really plan on "catching" OBL (in case he was alive)/Mullah Omar etc. Their plan is to leave AlQ and Taliban in Pakistan and continue bombing in their name until civil war breaks out and whole world is sent in panic mode "oh, save Pakistan's nukes".
Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
i do favour obama. obama is not part of the old guard neo-con political monopoly of the US although the electioneering agendas have clearly and already been set by neo-cons to suit their own aims. the question if obama gets it is if the cia and other political groups will accept his directives or will they be telling him how to defend their policies.
Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
democrates always are a better alternative. Any group driven by religious ideology, should be kept out of the ruling ranks.
Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
Rob, did you hear Obama's comments on Musharraf in the first debate?

USA is not Army controlled Pakistan
CIA is not out of control ISI
Re: Thoughts on Us presidential candidates for what they hold for Pakistan
does it occur to anyone, that making other countries bow down and get all their inner defense stratgeies approved by the demi god, is nto fair, it ought not to be expected like this.
