I use it everywhere on the base, if you feel you can use more on the edges. I also add some plain yoghurt in pizza dough and that might be a reason for keeping it soft.

For your second problem, let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. It helps set the cheese. If sliced piping hot, the toppings and cheese tend to come off.
How much sauce are you using?
And I agree with Seabee, that you should wait until the pizza has cooled before you cut it. Also, once the pizza is out of the oven, try and keep it covered with another pizza pan. This will prevent the crust from getting hard.
And a hard crust problem can always be solved by dipping it in coke :p

ok gs members with help of your tips i got rid from my 2 problems and today pizza was far better but now i got another problem...:(topping was bit watery from inside....when i cut into slices i saw some water may b tomato water but how to fix this problem
