Well, my birthday arrived less than month after his arrival in Canada. I was at work that day and all that time he never drummed up any enthusiasm. Later when I went home in the evening I was pleasantly surprised…he bough balloons, roses, cake and also got me a gifts from my fav stores 
On top of that he made dinner reservations at my favorite restaurant. Poor soul had to do all the shopping and make arrangements on his own using public transit as he didn’t have his CDN driver’s license that early on and I took the car to work… 
Than on Valentine’s we decided not to do anything special…it was mutual yet in
the middle of the night he wakes me up with roses and chocolates…and gave me an all in one digital picture frame (that I had wanted for the longest time but couldn’t splurge) for my office…and of course I hadn’t gotten anything 
He said how could it be possible that it was our 1st Valentine’s and he wouldn’t celebrate it
