Is everything in this world subjective to our interpretation or there are some other things which are absolute in its form with an absolute interpreation, independent of our perceptions? Either things are subject to our interpretations or things have some absolute interpretations. We interpret few things according to our perception as we don’t know the absolute interpretation of those things. If everything is subject to interpretation then the statement “everything is subject to interpretation” is also subject to interpretation, and that is contradiction. So absolute logics do exist.
Re: This World
Peace ajazali,
May I ask what made u think about that? I mean our thoughts is also subjective to our interpretation. Its like 'feed me more' or 'never ending hunger (of knowledge)'.

I do like the bold part. :)
Anyways, it means similar to the example of blind people who were asked to describe what an elephant is.
Those who felt elephant's nose said something different than those who touched only the tail.
Re: This World
Very tricky thread by ajazali. Lets see with what solution he’ll come up ![]()

Yeah like no. No means no means no. Absolute interpretation.
Re: This World
^ What if a woman replies “No” when asked “Are you mad at me?”
There’s usually more to that no.
Re: This World
Some things are absolute:
1) That religious freedom for all is best for society
2) That separation of religion and government is best way forward
3) that the justice system is a joke as far as the poor are concerned
Re: This World
Very clever, Huma! I guess lies will make even the absolute forms subject to interpretation. Good one.
southie, if those were absolute, world would be a different place.
Re: This World
^ indeed!
More absolutes:
Thou shall not go fishing outside the off stump
Don't loft against the spin
don't idle your car - turn the engine off if wait time > 1 min
Don't waste resources - especially water
Increase budget for public defenders
Do away with stop and frisk
Remove rule that if ball pitched outside leg stump you cant be given out LBW
NHL is not a sport
Re: This World
Huma, maybe, in that case "No" is subjective and "Yes" an absolute interpretation :D

In the light of your bolded comments, "absolute things" Southie mentioned, need to be more absolute :D

That live and let live is a noble philosophy
that being silent in the face of bigotry cloaked in religion is a sin
