Why do Cartoon characters always wear the same clothes?
ANd why are those clothes never dirty!

Cartoons are for children mostly. And not to change their dress is due to children can remember them. Their dress doesnot get dirty because they take care of it. They are not like you who play in dirt…

No, Sirf excel is the best. Because it removes the oil paints stains from my dresses as I am an artist..........:D Even the stain of Red color from white uniform....................WOW

I thought this was going to be the chicken/egg kinda question.
Anyway, how weird it would be if a cartoon character would change clothes as the fashion changed. Imagine Popeye having long hair and bell bottoms ( wait ! he does actually wear bell bottoms ). What if Elmer fudd actually started wearing jeans and Olive Oil took that old sack dress off and wore a shalwar kameez. Not only the kids, even the adults might not recognize the cartoon. Besides the cartoon characters, and yes I mean "character" means a same set of behaviour. And for the puspose of sameness, the same clothes make it easier.
As for why those clothes are always clean that is not true. Cartoon clothes do get dirty for a little while and usually the character just wipes off the dirt.
