Although the words hunt and fashion carry negative connotation in your post, I say good for them.
^Aqua, that’s one opinion. It’s said that the more authentic opinion is that Khadija RA was only a few years older than Aap SAWS. Permissible either way.
Lol @aqua70 I’m over my milf phase now, the max age difference in a relationship for me is +/- 4 years gap.

I know of two marriages (Muslim couples) where the wife is 6-7 years older . I doubt that it’s an easy decision for many women to make. You battle feelings of self-consciousness and doubts, etc. I haven’t read all the posts in the reddit link but 24 is a young age for a woman; it’s far from a desperate number. But I will admit that 18 for a guy sounds very daunting; most guys that age are not mature. I remember that one of my friends once mocked a guy whose wife was 10 years older than him and he was very much in love with her. At the time she could not fathom how in the world he could fall in love with an older woman…much less marry her…and to still be so devoted to her. As they say that…kisi ko baatain nahi karni chahiye…because our own words can come to bite us at a later point. The same friend (years later) found herself very smitten with a guy that was considerably younger than her. It didn’t work out. But being the introspective person that she is (thankfully), she was reminded of how she had mocked someone in the same shoes much earlier and it was a very humbling realization.
I’m not sure about Hazrat Khadija’s exact age. All my life I’ve heard she was at least 15 years older. But her bearing 5-6 children should not be the main factor in estimating her age because the it was a time era with richer diets including natural dairy, dates, figs, honey and wheat (not the poison we consume today). Women remained fertile for much longer compared to our average menopause age today ~45.
Whether she was 20 years older or just a few, the main lesson to be derived out of Their exemplary relationship remains the same.
