Every report I hear about climate change, whether it’s deniers or something like this, makes me cringe. This planet is going to be pretty horrible by the end of the century.

Yeah I've heard that too. What's worse is that most people simply do not care, or realize, what the effects are going to be. Saying "I told you so" 50 years from now is not going to be any comfort.

David suzuki has a very accurate analogy for this situation.
He said if you put one bacteria in a test tube and close it.
it double every mins. And test tube would run out of food for bacteria in one hour.
He goes "at 59th min if tell one bacteria about situation He would call you mad.. telling you half the tube is still empty"

This planet is for sure in danger coz of our ignorance and “I don’t give a damn, coz I won’t be alive when it happens” attitude! It is so frustrating, specially when ppl keep denying it!

While consumerism certainly drives industry, I think the worst thing about climate change is the lack of interest and sheer nonsense propaganda. Sadly, people won't care until it really starts affecting them via higher food prices.

Well, this area still needs further research. There are well respected scientists ( sponsored by oil companies) who are climate change skeptics.
Everyday folks impatiently go around me, accelerating towards the light that just turned red 50 yards away.

Earth has gone through the same cycles it is going through now countless times,infact thousands and thousands...over billions of years.
Humans are making a difference but not as much as people like to believe. How arrogant can humans be to think that over a period of the last 150 years (blink of an eye geologically speaking) that we have somehow destroyed earth.We are damaging it only short-term to OUR detriment,NOT earth's, forests will regrow, ice caps will return and melt and return...countless times before humans even existed and countless times long after we are gone.

^that is true, but don't you think that we are speeding up the process exponentially? We are the ones cutting down forests, killing animals, digging up wholes all over the place for oil, gold, diamonds, coal, etc. Taking sand from the sea and building land....polluting the land, the air and the sea...

Well, the scientists are not claiming the earth is being permanently destroyed. They are claiming the current rate of increase in temperature is caused by humans. With ice caps melting, the heating becomes autocatalytic, since no ice/ snow to reflect suns rays. And as more ice melts the effect grows larger.
David Attenborough showed ice cap coverage image from space in the 80 s and compared with present. About 30% gone! And what remains is thinner.
You are correct. After we are gone earth probably will be just fine. The scientist are not arrogant to assume it wont be. They are advising us to conserve so future generations can enjoy this earth like our forefathers have.
That I believe was the point of this thread.
