Re: This phrase 'ghora re'
He is from thata, so he must know.
He might know about Thatta, but this 'GhoRa Re' is basically spread all over Sindh and the most affected parts were in Northern Sindh like Sukkur and Ghotki.. (entry point in Sindh)

I think its from Sindhi origin and we never hear Arabic equivalent of this. Even no one mentions this in Majalis as they mention 'Al-atsh al-atsh' there. Historically, this also seems far fetched, as after the shahdat of Hazrat Hussain, there only remained ladies of prophet's house with only one male i.e. Hazrat Zain ul Abideen who was ill at that time. So there won't be anyone, who would be calling Horses.

Explain?
Re: This phrase ‘ghora re’
My understanding of this phrase has been that when you’re in trouble you just want to jump on your horse and run away, i.e. ghora re ghora! (grab your horses!), or atleast that’s the way it has been explained to me growing up
I use it all the time, poor wifey hears it the most ![]()

Re: This phrase ‘ghora re’
Ok time for expert opinion.
My baba says: The full sentence was ’ GhoRa Re GhoRa Madad Khan ja GhoRa’. Madad Khan was Arghoon tax collector appointed by Nadir Shah, who use to collect toll and tax @ 50% (even in years of famine) and if a person was unable to pay he ordered for their killing. Whenever, people saw Madad Khan’s people on horse, they used to announce their presence and run away after saying these words.
Re: This phrase 'ghora re'
