Re: This phrase 'ghora re'
Juhii chawla's father was marathi, Amir khans ex FIL was sindhi :D
But Juhi Chawla's Mom was Sindhi.. She visited her Nani, who was admitted in a hospital near our college.
This GhoRa Re phrase is also famous among those people, who had any interaction with Sindhi people from rural areas. I remember, once we visited Islamabad and met there a family. The guy (who was actually from Balakot, Hazara), asked me 'what does this mean'. He said his father was in police and was appointed somewhere in rural Sindh. When they used to beat criminals, they uttered this 'GhoRa Re, GhoRa Re' repeatedly.

and what was the more common source of traveling? I mean which animal was more used for traveling in Sindh during old times?
Umm...camels and horses.
Re: This phrase 'ghora re'
Umm...camels and horses.
Not horses... In desert of Sindh, camel was most popular animal... Sindhi folktales and Shah Latif's stories also tell that camel was even used by kings for traveling
Re: This phrase 'ghora re'
In story of Sassi Punho, Punhoo's brothers took him on camel from Bhanbhor to Makraan... In Umar Marvi's story, Umar used camel for abducting Marvi. In Moomal Rano's story, Rano used to travel on camel to meet Moomal in night. This all shows that Camel was most popular animal in Sindh and horses were rare. Horses only came on scene, when invaders from north attacked Sindh and this 'ghoRa Re' is the alarm of war, uttered by masses when they saw horses in their territory, where camel was the common animal.
