This is what Pakistan should be

Socially. Culturally. Economically. Politically. This is the 21st Century face of Islam.

pakistans fluid faith will find its own path to the sea!

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

Turkey itself was betrayed by the 'fellow muslims' when the arabs went their own way, and in doing so they betrayed everyone, ....including the palestinians that they cant stop talking about, even if they will not actually do anything about it.

Muslims as whole tend to forget their mistakes pretty fast, thank you for reminding !

and secular too ?

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

If Turkey is secular Reno, then why does the EU not agree?

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

Turkey is a secular country not a Islamic state. Turkey has also banned the hijab and legalized night clubs and alcohol and recognized Israel as a country. I doubt Pakistan would ever be like Turkey.

did u read the posted article before the comment :)

Do you think becoming secular means part of European culture ?

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

Who spoke about culture? The EU has stated officially in reports and through its various commissions that Turkey still has a lot to do to reach the EU's standard of separation of Church and State.

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

Something interesting

European Union “35 chapters of the acquis communautaire” has to be complete by Turkey first to become part of Union, some are done and some are in the process.

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

right now being part of EU is more risky than not anyways, especially for those with the euro.. with the PIIGS messing things up royally as predicted by many previously anyways, and wait till the newer eastern european joints problems grow.

actually thats what i meant to say

theyve actually been betrayed again, even after recognising israel the israellis have gone and supported pkk kurdish seperatists with weapons, training and money. incidently a kurd is the only person i personally have met with anti palestinian views

i have yet to see any statement from any Turkish official regarding this, don't spill lies ...

Re: This is what Pakistan should be

i havent heard the statements from the turks either after the initial revelation. this news actually came straight from the israellis and the americans. how and when you ask? find out yourself

you think the turkish political uturn towards israel has come out of thin air? -dont answer with one line rubbish x20 posts to wreck the thread

I am just waiting to see till any of the country give up being into EU. they already have messed a lot and bearing the consequences and yet there will be a lot that everyone in EU know.

some people were concerned about the rate of expansion of EU and especially brining in countries that simply would just bring in their issues and impact the whole EU, the open borders have caused other issues in terms of smuggling and crimes as well. I am all for Free trade zones, EU and all, but expand at a sane pace and after putting candidate countries through their paces. anyhow thats a whole diff topic.

Companies moving within EU to the countries with less TAX and cheap labor. Moving their good through out the EU depending on the order. Different rates in Different country, same product.

People earning money from one country and investing or saving in other country damaging the finances of their own homeland.

Oil, Cigarettes, consumer products producing in other country and smuggling in a country with EU where the prices are high.

People around the border area shopping across the border for less.

Countries taking credit from other EU countries in a thought to payback somehow.

Euro, Dollar fight bringing more damages to every level.

Countries like France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Luxembourg also some how UK and Switzerland taking the pain of other countries that have given up.

Now the question. What is actually EU for?
