Saw this earlier. Judge was wrong. Unnecessarily baited the young lady. These folks have too much power.

Southie, I support the judge's decision actually. About time the girl learned some manners, no? If she doesn't care telling a judge to F off, wonder what she says to her parents and teachers etc. In the long run, this decision will probably change her for the better. She needs to understand there will be consequences of her words/actions.

I think locking people up and increasing fines to levels they cant afford is gross misuse of power. Punishment should fit the crime.
The incarceration level is one of the highest in the US. War on drugs is an utter failure. Clearly the lady was on drugs. A professional judge would have overlooked that sign. But he didn't. Called her back. Doubled the fine. Added jail term. Prison is awful. People come out of it worse off not rehabilitated.
The little guy gets 3 strikes you are out. While the too big to fail banks are sacred cows. Not one has gone to jail since the 2007 financial blow up. Apparently they don't have enough evidence. One govt official even stated criminal case not an option cause the banks are too important.

The libor scandal where banks openly colluded to fix rates. They have emails from traders thanking them for it. Still no one in jail.
Lobbyists influencing Congress. It is legal bribery. But God forbid you steal a loaf of bread cause you are hungry. No siree Bob, off you go to the big house.
If you are African American male in NYC there is 80% chance you have been frisked at least once while walking in your own neighborhood.
This cycle of overpunishing the poor while the elite get a free pass has to stop.
