This is serious...No laughing...

OK, according to Hadith, if you can smell it and hear it, your wudu and your prayers are void…What if neither happens but you know one slipped by…:D…What do you do?

Sometimes it's just contraction and flexing of the muscles.:D

But if one felt that the 'wind' did 'go' then it's back to the hammam!

Ibn Sadique, this is what I came across,

Passing gas, i.e. breaking wind

Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "Allah does not accept the prayer of a person who has released gas until he makes a new ablution." A person from Hadhramaut asked Abu Hurairah, "What does releasing gas mean?" *He answered, "Wind with or without sound." [Related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.] *

Abu Hurairah also narrated that the Prophet said, "If one of you finds a disturbance in his abdomen and is not certain if he has released any gas or not, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears its sound or smells its scent." [Related by Muslim.]

'Abbad ibn Tameem related that his uncle queried the Prophet about a person who feels something in his abdomen while praying. Said the Prophet , *"He should not leave (the prayer) until he hears it or smells it." [Related by Muslim, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi.] *

The first one is from Bukhari and Muslim that means the most authentic, the third one is in Muslim, Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi...So going by authenticity, it means I guess that regardless of sound or smell, if you know you have passed gas, your Wudu and Salat is void...

But the third one is where like you metioned, it might just be muscles of the stomach which someone feels...

What about people like me. I can barely smell anything unless its very strong and its hard for me to distinguish between different smells. Most colognes smell the same to me and so on. How can i smell something when i cant smell at all ? :(

trys hard not to laugh :hehe:

I guess if you have doubts it’s best to do wuzu again

:k:

Maniac… keep coffee beans with you

aik to khudi daant dekha rahay ho phir boltay ho hum na hasain :p

Such a formal way of farting...

Please forgive me for saying so.

however, Islam is not a religion of difficulty…
and Allah says in the Quran that He does not intend to make things difficult for u…
so, the rule in Sharia’h is that if u have a doubt over whether u have wudu or not, then u DO NOT need to repeat…
infact even if u did perform ablution 3 hours back and u cant remember whether u passed out something, u stick to the wudu and DO NOT need to repeat…
