and I am a brit married to a yank for over a decade and she still makes fun of my choice of words and phrases. I have been here long enough that my speech is mostly american, but anytime I am on the phone with my brit pals, bros etc..she mocks me using very monty pythonish accent and phrases mixing yob with some old fogie ..like

oi guvner’, I am getting my brolly from the boot of the lorry, I dont want to my plimsols to get wet cheerio old chap. etc etc ..etc
