Relationships are what you make of them. They don't just magically change, grow, or diminish. It depends upon the amount of effort each person puts in and the attitude toward the relationship. There is no reason to think that marriage will make you distant from your family unless you become distant yourself. Yes, the relationship will change, because you are no longer in the same house, and have obligations to the spouse and your new family as well. But it is not a death sentence.
