I hope this was an isolated incident and the whole army should not be blamed for that. However, when an "officer" (as opposed to a regular jawan) commits such a horrendous act and gets away with it, thats when i get a little jittery. That implies the person who did it knew he would get complete protection from the army and that gave more encouragement to perpetrate such heinous act.
Pakistan army "officers" were also engaged in wanton rape in East Pakistan (hamidoor commision report)
Pakistan's army's name came up once more in the Congo rape scandal (i think it's still under investigation)

If some women are raped any where, the rapists are subjected to punishments as suggested in Law books. The court can make punishment more harsh or soft whenever it is desired. A rape in a community or even some rapes in a community does not mean that community is rapist.
Some army officers may have committed acts of rape and they were subjected to courts, when ever reported, and thecourts took appropriate actions against them. It cannot be said that army raped some people as it cannot be said that Pakistan, India, US, UK or any other nation is rapist. Pakistan Army deals as harshly as any other army with persons who break discipline. Every nation as well as every army has rapists among it, and Pakistani nation and army is not an exception.
It is strange and shameful for human kind to still have rapists amongst them.

pakistan is run by a government that does not rule by what allah has revealed, allies with kuffar against muslims, makes fun of islamic rulings and hands over mujahideen to kuffar or kills them. so this government is kafir, and since army serves the govt, the army is not a muslim army. there might be muslims inside the army, but as an institution, it is a kafir institution, so i m not surprised at when its men rape the very women of the society they claim to protect.

I hope when theres a civilian rape case next time-God forbid-all who've cursed the military will do the same against the civil accused...i doubt if the intensity of protest against them would be given any equal voice even after theyre proven guilty...the Mukhtaran case is an example, why wait for a future refernce when we have the blatant truths of the past. it's been abt 3 yrs, all NGOs have done for her is use her as a mascot to gather foreign exchange if not in the form of cash then atleast in form of publicity...pathetic we all are...where were the protestants when the courts set the various beast who ravaged her free?
This outbursts against the army is oh so much driven by factors other than this...vested interests of certain lobbies whose accounts are harshly being scrutinized and rightly so, seems to be more of a reason...
any way this thread has lived its meaningful life. anyone willing to take the argument farther in a direction based on this last post is welcome to open a new thread.
