it’s been a year since i’ve been to this college. and i still don’t know what I want to majore in. I thought Pharmacy would be a great field, but my guidance counselor said that there’s many other fields in the Pharmaceutical department, and blahdy blahdy blah!!!
So great now im more confused
not to mention I wanted to go for Psychology and asked my parents, and their answer was “Beta unn ko theek karte karte tum khud pagal ho jaao gee” heinnnn
Regarding your major: Have you made any “professional” plans for your time after college? That would give you some kind of aim and then it would be much easier to choose a major, because you would obviously go for a field of study that matches the nature of your desired job most.
I 'll suggest, chose a major that interests you the most, as far as pharmacy is concerned its a really good field and the requirements are only two yrs. of college (Associate Degree and PCAT), so if you dun want to get a bachelors degree, your option is pharmacy.
If you are planning to go for a bachelors degree, go for something other than Biology or Chemistry, every desi I know is a wanna be doctor (yeah me too $) and studying Biology.. well, you can become a doctor even by getting an English Literature degree, or being a history major, but unfortunately desi parents dun like telling people about the liberal arts major of their kids, so you are stuck with something related to the science.. now choices are abdundant depending on your interest, Biochemistry (if you are kind of interested in labs), Microbiology can turn out an awesome major depending how well organized the department is in your uni, or NeuroBiology, (dunno much about the jobs offer), and last but not least, the Public health, that can lead to the administrative jobs in hospital or any other health related field.
If you like Psychology, you can always do the minor in it, but keep in mind Psychology is a very tough subject and needs alot of determination.
I hope it makes sense to you and can help you somehow. Good Luck in everything that you do. :)
