This is a big problem for me

As u all know i have recently had a baby.
Actually i am not sure if i should use the word
recent, she is mashALLAH close to 8 mos now.

Here is the thing,
i have so many old clothes of her that do not fit her anymore.
The prob is i do not wanna throw out those old clothes or
give them to good will. They are in real good condition. Some of
them she only wore one or two times.

I am just so attched to them that i have kept them so far. But i can’t
keep on doing this, right. I am already running out of space, i can’t imagine kay next few months mai kia ho ga. When i will have loads more. Again i am just so attached to these clothes of her, specially
the ones she wore in her first couple months.
Any suggestions???

Ps: i am not one of those ppl who hang on to their old things
all their lives. I do throw out the old useless stuff. But this is something i can’t make myself do. It may not sound big to u but is a
big prob for me. I swear.

keep them for the next kid :)

My ammi went through the same thing with my siblings and I, so what she did was save a few from each one of us. The ones she saved had greater sentimental value I guess than the regular everyday clothes. For instance the first pair of course, than dresses that had been made by my grandmas and our first sweaters. The rest like you mentioned were in good condition so she gave them to my Khala’s for their kids.

What I think would be a good idea is get a memory box/ chest storage thing, and than put in there all the things she’ll value most and have memories of when she grows up inshAllah i.e. her first blanket, clothes, and toys. :)

yeah give em these dangerous ideas..

G.D. :nono:

Even if she were to try right way it takes 9months to ‘DELIVER’ :halo:

There would be more than 17 months difference in age

NO FEAR ..sajal just like the nike commercial

Hey Sajal,

Don't listen to gamma :D

Sajal, you could give them to charity or sell them. Or you could give them to any people you know who are expecting.

But that is the problem,
i can't make myself give them away. I am being too
sentimentel and attached with these things of hers.
I would luv to give them to charity. But i wanna
keep them forever although i don't have enuf room to store em.:(

If these clothes are practically new and not extremely worn or anything, then there is little point in throwing them away or giving them off... Not at this point, since she is your first born. Insha allah these clothes can be used by her siblings.

You should put them in a suit-case or a carton and store it in your garage; or even if that is not available, then put them in public storage (generally very cheap).

aww how sweet,

just set them all out in your room... pick out the ones which are Xtra special for you.. and keep them in a box

( as a mother I'd like to collect things in a box all through my child's life... and when the child's a teenager then I'd give it to them.. one of the things would be a few really cute baby clothes)

The rest, if you can save for another child or give to a charity shop.

ALternatively you could put them in big bags and leave them in the garage or in your bedroom, one day when you're really fed up of having no room - you'll bin em!! :)

why dont u invest in one of those packagings that suck the air out and your stuff will take less space....:) I agree with you, I dont think i could ever give my first born's ANYTHING away

I kept just a few things that I really loved and shared the rest with friends. When I needed clothes for the second one they came back, some of them more worn and with a few new ones too.

THINK OF THIS WAY! YOU HAVE YOU LOVING ESHA TO HOLD ON TO FOREVER.
LET GO OF THE STUFF SHE PUT ON. JUST PICK 5 DRESES YOU REALLY WANT TO HOLD ON... AND LET GO OFF OTHERS. GIVE IT TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY KIDS IF THEY ARE INTRESTED....THIS WAY YOU WILL SEE THEM WEARING TO KEEP THE GOOD MEMORIES. ONE MORE THOUGHT SEND IT TO EIDI CHARITY( IT WILL BE USEFUL FOR DESERVING PEOPLE).
