How many of you are working on Eid day or attending classes ? This is so unfair. Im stuck at uni, Im not ready for Eid, I have an exam tomorrow and what am I going to do. Plus I wont be able to wear my Eid shoes because my foot is wrapped up in a ton of gauze.
Bakra Eid has always been a boring eid for me. Our masjid celebrated today because we like to follow Saudi on some days. There is nothing special going on in town because of Eid today so I rather be at work :) In fact come to think of it, I don't even have a new Eid outfit haha!
i spent my day at work.. then i went home and spent an hour gettnig ready (and getting in trouble for making everyone late for maghrib at the masjid).. spent 3 hours at the masjid giggling with my brats and then came home… Eid is just not what it used to be anymore… i didnt even get to wear my chooriyan
I am taking day off. The kids are taking the day off. This time I also arranged for qurbani at a nearby ranch, and Daniyal is pretty excited at the prospect of seeing a goat, albeit only for a few minutes, before it is qurbanified. Though its much easier (and cheaper) to have Qurbani done in Pakistan or thru some charity, but I really want the kids to understand the difference between choti Eid and bari Eid.
Night before Eid (tonight), there is an Eid Mela, with stalls for bangels, clothes etc, and the girls are quite geared up for that.
On Eid day, after Eid ki namaaz, we have an all-day Eid festival, which is basically the meeting point with all friends till about 4 pm. Then, some guests are coming home and in the evening we have an Eid party with some other friends.
Sunday will be spent ditributing qurbani meat etc. Or so it seems.
I had a 'headache' and so unfortunately wasn't able to make it into work. Hahahaha.
MQ - how much guaze are we talking about? Do your shoes absolutely not fit at all or are you being a baby? Shoes are meant to hurt your feet.......the nicer the shoes , the more they hurt.
Rukhsarbibi sadzz and Goliko-- But Eid should be different. People should not work on Eid. It should feel special , not like any other hectic day at work or uni.
Faisal--- I have to admit that your Eid sounds perfect. Good to hear and hope you and your family have a great time.
Shahreen - Ive been wearing big huge snow shoes for a week now.I cant wear any sandals or fancy shmancy shoes. I cut my foot (yes I was stupid) and no my Eid shoes wont fit at all. And they're so beautiful too.sigh.
I just got back from a chand raat party - mehndi - and I feel horrible.I think Im also coming down with something, and am trying to finish up an assignment.
Verizon - I look like an old hag. And who wears a burka on Eid. heck mini skirts are in.Didnt you know?
lussi--- you need to be taught a lesson young man.
My eid day got shot because of bickering between ISNA and saudis, is it thursday, is it friday. I had moved all my appointments to Thursday as I was told eid was friday, and then was told eid was thursday so shuffled them back to friday, only to be told later that eid was Friday.
I went for Namaaz today and then came to work, have some plans with friends this evening but with forecasts of upto 12 inches of snow, dont know how many will brave the roads this evening.
