ermm.. right click on the 'get genuine' icon and click on 'change notification settnigs' on the menu.. a browser window will open. Uncheck "Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Messages" and done!

The simple and best to way to remove that message & counter is
Just follow these simple steps
Open your “Registery Editor” Click on Start > Run then write “regedit” and press enter, a Registery Editor Window will appear on your screen.
Now click on “My Computer” on top in Registery Window, then click on Edit > Find and search “WGALOGON” folder.
The folder “Waglogon” will be automatically selected after searching, now just delete that folder by pressing delete button on you keyboard
After that search these three following files in your Windows folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WgaLogon.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WgaTray.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LegitCheckControl.dll
If it exists just delete all files and if “WgaLogon.dll” doesn’t get deleted, just rename that file into any name example:** wgalogon-old.dll**
In last just restart your Windows and enjoy your full version of Window but don’t forget to disable “Automatically update” in your Control Panel > Windows Security.

DO THE RIGHT THING, after all this is month of Ramadan;
Buy a genuine copy, I bought one for one of my laptops and I could not be happier.
For my other two machines I installed the Windows Vista Beta 2 with Office 2007 Beta 2. There are now annoying checks with these beta copies, they don't cost you anything and best of all, there are no crashes or issues (I have been running them for over a month)

download “autoruns” utility
run it
go to winlogon tab
and remove WGA entries
save
