I don’t know what you are talking about mundaya and co-mod but mr.great happens to be a hindu and rediff.com is Indians favourite site so why you are so bothered.
Anyhow, numbers don’t matter but why thousands of Hindus would like to convert a religion without any force? Isn’t it shameful for those Hindus who lives in Cuckoo land and say Caste system doesn’t exist on such a large scale in Indian society.
What made you formally renounce Hinduism?
The primary reason is the oppressive caste system, which divides Hindus into human beings and sub-human beings. Twice-born upper-caste members are a privileged lot, enjoying access to success in life, while the lower-caste members are made to consider themselves inferior and are condemned to a life of poverty. From a rational point of view, the caste system turns common people into cynics and makes them slaves to their fate. It simply negates the truism that people can themselves make a difference to their lives.
No doubt There are THOUSANDS of Hindus coverting every day due to the EVIL apartheid system (casteism). They are SEEKING Liberation from being classed as Sub-Human by the upper castes.
zz, plz explain why are ppl leaving hinduism in large numbers? rather than telling us just because they can do it, they do. also i dont see large number of muslims converting to buddism in india? i mean muslims dont rule india or do they?
also, ppl can eat garbage, jump in wells, slap themselves silly. just cos they can do it in india do they? hope not.

zz, Regardless of the Exact numbers MANY do convert each day some to Christianity some to Islam and a VERY large number to Bhuddism. Basically HINDUISM is in a Path of decline in India.

let hinduism decline. if it is worth surviving it will and if it is worth declining it will. if after 5000 years, it has suddenly developed weakness, it could decline.
but unlike muslims i will not say that killing someone for conversions are attempt of conversion is justified.

People leaving Hinduism are very very less. I have met hundreds of converts to christianity, who get $1000 as christmas gift per annum on converting to christianity. Some educated guys have converted to other religion only for the sake of politics.
Conversion to islam is for one of the most funniest reasons. In many cases it is Polygamy. If you are a Muslim you can have many wives, whereas if you are a Hindu you need to divorce your wife and pay her a alimony.
Similarly, Conversions to Buddhism are because Ambedkar converted and nothing else. Not many are interested in the teachings and preachings of the religion.
If a Muslim tries to convert to other religion, they are killed by their own brethren. So, there ends the matter.
