I don’t think Funguy wants to put on a show for us … hence, the silence. Oh well. :halo:
I dont know what worked, I have been eating the same actually, but I think the long period of not eating between sahri and ifari might have been the reason. I am not having a heavy iftari, just normal dinner. Your post was a nice inspiration :k: you wrote at the right time and the right place
(Hard to believe it, at first when I read it, I thought thats impossible what he’s telling us to do, you might even sense that in my first response to this topic) but your proved that your idea was a good one.
I am now even more motivated, this has a great effect on my mood. I am feeling better and hoping to keep it up. keep on motivating us.
The next days will be crucial though, everday a new iftari party
I am keeping away from those though.
Good morning folks.
Last day of the butt week and to be honest this was the worst week as far as sticking to the plan was concerned. The daylight savings didn’t help much either…I had heavy iftars at home instead of light ones at the mosque, the gym schedule got screwed and the jean which challenged me is still tight. As Fridays are casual days at work, I am wearing it today and I think it’s gonna be a long day.. :-D
Chano, you are eating chocolates huh? It’s ok..feed it to the cats..I think we need a group hug..even if it’s just the two of us.
Saadia, I’m glad this thread helped you gain some motivation..like I said healthy food is a lifestyle not a dieting program. Have fun at iftar parties…enjoy what you eat but keep the quantity in check. It’s not about how huge you look..it’s about how good you feel..and being in good proportion always helps
I spent one solid day in the gym this week and it felt great…I could do more chin-ups because the body is ten pounds lighter and abs are rock solid! I’m not too worried about the weight anymore…let’s get to the toning & muscle definition babay!
This thread certainly has helped me in keeping myself in check! Thanks to the mod who made it important…now please let’s see the table dance. (I wouldn't mind Sadi Sobi in action either)
i had this cream fruit salad thingy with like 50 million grams of fat but it was sooooooooooooooo goood ![]()
Gosh you guys need serious motivation now
The easiest way to lose weight is to cheat with your food. Sehri first, use less ata and roll out same size paratha. AankhooN ki lalach ka ilaaj, since you’re not really hungry that early in the morning anyway.
Get late for iftar, miss a bus, puncture your car or something, so by the time you get home, you’ll be the only one around the table. That’s not fun so you’ll eat less, simple. Or just have a glass of plain yogurt in iftar and lots and lots of water and see how fast that works. I think I’ve lost 3 kgs in two weeks ![]()
“the jean which challenged me is still tight”
You should’ve asked for help, you can still make it though, just one week with yogurt and you’re done :o
Thanks for the motivation Sabah. ![]()
** Week Four **
This is prayers week. Yes, you lazy, kamchor people…get down on your knees and pray like that cute little kid on Geo…
“Allah mian mujhay spiderman ka bag day dain, aur aik kharbooza day dain..aur aam day dain…aur…aur..Amen”
Yeah just like that…get down on your knees this week and pray to the almighty god “Allah mian mujhay aik choti si tidi or aikh choti si pithi day dain”
I did my job, only god can save you now.
i had told my friends .. No more Birthdays.
One of them responded by getting married over the weekend ![]()
that Filet Mignon was really deeeeleeecious… and i finished off several people’s creme brule in the end..
:burp:
got stuck in traffic and made a 1 1/2 trip in 3 1/2 hrs
but missed iftaar pakoras (thank goodness!) and broke fast w/ a banana and “sev” and water
Had faroot salad when I got home and lasagna (just a small piece). ![]()
I don’t feel fat eventhough I haven’t been to the gym in over a week! I am just trying to eat less.
Fayz, I finally figured out what you were trying to do. When I am home on the weekends for iftari, much to my horror, I can’t eat much. Mostly it’s a bowl of fruit salad and I am done for the night. BUT the days I am on campus which is every day, and walk to the prayer place and then the iftaar, I find I can stuff myself more!! And I even have room for tea later. So I have decided to make sure I walk a bit right before iftaar, so in the end I can eat more. ![]()
You’re a pseudo-genius.
You gotta be kidding me. Most of my weekday iftaars are me, myself and samosas and trust me there is no stopping. Actually having more people helps because you might eat less thinking of the other person. Akailay may tau koi roknay wala bhi nahee hauta. :stuffed:
Is it safe to assume that everyone has abandoned the plan by now?
I’m pretty much still following the food part of it during weekdays. I figure that reading taravian gives me all the exercise I need :halo:
My only problem is the weekends - I’m at home for iftari time so I pig out so bad
I know I’ve lost weight though … I can finally breathe in my levis ![]()
I’m not gonna weigh myself until eid though, because the first thing I usually do when I realise I’ve lost weight is hit Pizza Hut
Here’s hoping I lose enough weight in these last 4 days to make my eid clothes fit …
NO ![]()
I am still on it! Not following the plan as religiously but I refuse to be a loser like most of you ![]()
Fayz-the-genius
My weight is steady ... hasn't gone up or down. I haven't been eating much junk for the most part. On the odd day, I'll indulge and go beserk and stuff my face but that's only happened a few times. My face is apparently slimmer, which is good I guess.
Few more days left so we have to make the most of it.

One more day to go people. Hang in there!
in the beginning of ramzan i was stressed about some issues and i didnt feel hungry at all so didnt eat anything but like a banana or two and milk for sehri and a date or two and sharbat for iftari…midway during the month i was not under stress anymore [alhamdulillah] but i realised that i had lost a lot of weight b/c of eating less so why not continue to eat little and let that lost weight be lost forever ![]()
ppl had been telling me i’ve become kamZor but i thought aise hi keh rahay hon ge log aadat k maray
lekin i guess i’ve lost so much weight in ramzan that my friends today all 3 of em in the office were telling me i have become a skeleton and unhealthy aur ye woh au meri haddYan nazar aa rai haen etc etc and ater ramzan they gona feed me one paratha per day ![]()
ab i am thinking —> ramzan khatam ho gya hae how am i gona keep this lost weight off me, coz i wont be fasting and knowing myself i’ll start eating like there’s no tomorrow all over again ![]()

atleast i’ll look slim on eid :halo:
