ICC’s CEO, Malcom SPeed is suggesting the idea of a third on-field umpire at the test level.
Where would you make this third umpire stand?
Somewhere they can constantly observe Shoaib tampering the ball.
^ For that the umpire has to run along shoaib. You know, he can tamper the ball while running 30 yards. I guess, David Shepherd is out of contention for this post.
I don't think there's any need for a third on-field umpire. Instead, they should let the third umpire make desicions for the LBWs. That'll do more good than having a third on-field umpire.
I often notice that the umpire on square leg gets a bit lonely, so the 2nd and the 3rd umpire can stand together and chit chat about more important stuff in life.
Just imagine the possibilities.. if Shakoor Rana (marhoom) had another person to talk to, he probably would never have noticed Gatting moving the fielder and we could be saved all the unpleansantness that followed. Malcolm Speed is far behind the times. What an idiot! I am sure, Ehsan bhai will do a better job now. :)

Bad idea, its only making cricket more unoriginal, instead of adding a 3rd umpire on the field, maybe they should get rid of some of the idiots of today, guys like Asoka de Silva and Venkat are messing up the game.
