The Quran orders of namaz nearly 700 times, but what it orders even more than that is to observe one’s surroundings and think about everything and try to relate it with Allah (s.w.t). There are many examples given specially on our existance. Why Allah (s.w.t) sent us here ?, how we were born ?, how we become strong in youth and then again become weak and dependent in old age ?..etc.
What I don’t understand is:
THIS *“observing & thinking” *is suppose to strengthen our relationship with Allah (s.w.t). There is a saying that a moment of thinking about existance of oneself and one’s surroundings is better than hundreds of years of “Ibadah”(praying). BUT this same “Deep Thinking” makes people an ATHEIST, which is totally opposite of what was expected out of it in terms of Quranic teachings. WHY ?!
What I understand, a Mo’min is a believer of Allah (s.w.t), his heart and soul are satisfied and at peace in following Allah’s rules and principles no matter how many difficulties he has to face in doing that, he is responsible for creating peace (to his level best) in this world. He humbly believes in every order of Allah (s.w.t) without doubts and has total “Tawakkal” (trust) on Allah (s.w.t) so he only fears Allah and shows respect and love towards HIM more than for anyone else.
Coming back to your question, a person who is not a Mo’min is someone who is NOT willing to first humbly believe in the existence of Allah (s.w.t) and then seek guidance and satisfaction of heart and soul through the words of Allah (s.w.t).** He is someone who has directed his thoughts and observations in the wrong direction from the beginning without even considering the possibility of existance of the Almighty Allah (s.w.t) even for a MOMENT. Even if he did so at any stage of his life, he didn’t do it with sincerity of thoughts and feelings.
**I might be wrong at any place. May Allah (s.w.t) forgive me for my mistakes. Allah knows BEST!
So is it fair to say that those who become atheist after pondering and “Deep Thinking” are the ones who direct their thoughts and observation in the wrong direction from the beginning without even considering the possibility of existence of the Almighty Allah:subhanahu: even for a moment?
Even if they were muslims at one point in their lives, they did not accept the religion with a sincere heart and with the honest intention and hope from Allah to be guided in the right path and direction???
^ I agree. This is how I feel, though I might be wrong in some places. Kindly correct me if anyone thinks that it is an illogical thinking. Allah (s.w.t) knows BEST!
