**Beshak...
Swera Gi.. According to Hazrat Ali Aleh Salam.. U can chnage ur KISMAT 50%
50% is MUQADDAR and 50% is TAQDEER
DESTINY , wat Imam Jafar SadiQ Aleh Salam Mentioned .. is MUQADAR that cannot be changed.
As Per My Research on DESTINY
(May ALLAH BLESS US ALL AND PUT US ON THE RIGHT PATH)**
ALLAH GRANT US THE
SERENITY **
TO CHANGE THE THINGS WE CAN
**COURAGE and PATIENCE
TO ACCEPT THE THINGS WE CANNOT
AND *WISDOM *
TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE
well, everything is written for us for sure, but we shud struggle/work for it...i am not saying changing it, but towards it...
btw, how can someone know that smething is written in our destiny....we only know after it happens...before that, we have no idea....e.g. no one knows, what happens after one minute...
can we put it this way....we don't do because Allah has written in our destiny, but Allah knows, what man will do, so that he has written our destiny accordingly..

but if EVERYTHING ifwritten before hand, then why are we being punished for the bad deeds after we die? If it's already written that we will be evil, then why is there such thing as hell? YEs, Allah has written, given us a character, but we can change. We still have a choice too.
well sadiya jee, if u read my post carefully, u will notice that i mentioned, "Allah knows, what we will do (afterall he is the creator of everything), so thats why he wrote it in our destiny...
btw, here is a saying (not sure of its origin) abt the issue of "jabr-o-Qadr":
Once a man went to Hazrat Ali (RA) and asked him abt jabr-o-qadr. Hazrat Ali (RA) asked him to raise his right leg. He did as asked. Now Hazrat Ali (RA) asked him to raise the left leg while keeping the right leg raised. That person said, how is it possible. To which the great Khalifa replied, there are some things you can do, and some which you can't.
also, our destiny has been written but Allah has given us wisdom as well through Quran ( and Hadeeth).....we have to use that wisdom to decide what is good for us and what is not....
it is in Quran, that Allah is responsible for ur Rizq (food)...but does that mean that since u will get the food no matter what, that you just sit at home, do nothing and expect the food to arrive at ur doorsteps...u have to struglle for it....
let me give another example....Prophet Mohammed :SAW: was promised that he will be the first one to enter the Jannah, but still he used to pray all night and ask forgiveness from the all mighty...
hope that helps...

Some Ahadith are also found in Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad:
A man said, "O Messenger of God! Can the people of Paradise be differentiated from the people of the Fire (prior to the performance of their deeds)." The Prophet replied, "Yes". The man said, "Why then do people do deeds?" The Prophet replied, "Everyone will do the deeds for which he has been created or which have been made easy for him." (Bukhari on the authority of 'Imran ibn Husayn)
Ali reports: We were in Baqi' (Medina's cemetery) attending a funeral when the Prophet came. As he sat, we also sat around him. He had a stick with him. He lowered his head and started to scrape the earth with the stick and then said: "There is none among you and no other person but has his place assigned either in Paradise or in Hell and has been forewritten to be either wretched or blessed." A man said: "O Messenger of God! Do we then not depend on what is written and stop the deeds?" The Prophet said: "He who is blessed will hasten to do the deeds of the blessed while he who is wretched will hasten towards the deeds of the wretched". He also said: "Do your deeds, for everyone is put on ease. For the blessed the deeds of the blessed will be made easy while for the wretched the deeds of the wretched will be made easy." Then he recited Qur'an 92:5-7. (Muslim; Bukhari also records something similar)
Another narration:
Abi al-Aswad ad-Dayli reports: Imran ibn Husayn asked me, "That for which people now do deeds and strive over, is it something that is already decided and is foreordained or is it something that will come about in future on the basis of what their prophet gave them and on the basis of proof?" I said, "But no, it is a thing already decided and foreordained for them." Imran said, "Is that not tyranny (zulm)?" I was greatly perturbed by this question. I said, "Everything is a creature of God and his property. No one can question what He does but others can be questioned." Imran said, "May God have mercy on you. I asked you only to test your ability to reason". Two men of Muzaynah came to the Prophet and said, 'O Messenger of God! That for which people now do deeds and strive over, is it something that is already decided and is foreordained or is it something that will come about in future on the basis of what their prophet gave them and on the basis of proof?' The Prophet said, 'No, it is something already decided and foreordained for them. This is confirmed by the Book of God: (Qur'an 91:7-8).'" (Muslim)

so the person who has been written down to go to hell, by order of Allah, will never be able to go to good deeds....
and person destined for paradise, cant step towards evil, no matter how hard he longs for it????
it is mentioned in Quran:
*
We test you with good and bad, to judge you. Finally, you shall all be returned to Us. (Al-Anbiaa 21: 35)
*
Narrated Abdullah:
*
Allah's Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, "(as regards your creation), every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for an other forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into his body. So a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and hell, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. Similarly, a person may do deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and he starts doing deeds of the people of the (Hell) Fire and enters the (Hell) Fire." (Volume 4, Book 55, Number 549)

Man has been granted freedom in the sphere that will be decisive in his qualifying for Paradise or Hell. Thus the time and place of our birth, the environment that surrounds us, the mental capabilities we have and the opportunities that come our way are, among other things, predestined for us. But the moral sphere of life, the choice between good and evil, is where granting man free will is the very essence of the grand scheme of things without which the whole existence becomes meaningless.
Take the example of a teacher who by dint of his knowledge and experience knows beforehand that a particular student of his would fail the exam, yet it is absolutely clear that the responsibility of the student's failure rests not on the teacher's knowledge but on the student's ineptness. Now if that student were to be told that there is no need for him to take the exam, since his teacher knows the outcome of the exam, he would never accept it as justified, unless given the opportunity to prove otherwise. The same, I believe, is true of the test of this life.

And had God so desired, He would have made you a single people [and not given you the freedom to deviate], but for the purpose of testing you in what He has bestowed upon you [He granted you freedom].

Because of our limited knowledge, we can only understand that, which God has informed us. We are neither in a position to understand all aspects of God's decisions nor every aspect of the wisdom entailed in His actions.
I find it a bit confusing. What about that special night of prayers, in the month of Ramadaan, Layla toel qadr, someone told me that in that night not only can you earn extra blessings, but also your faith can be changed or something, I don't know exactly how she put it, something like that anyway. She said qismat can be rewritten or something if you pray hard enough?
For Renaissance of Sunnah you must be ready for every sacrifice. (Faizan-e-Sunnat)
Wow wevryone great work:)
How about we don't take everything we read or hear as literal and the divine truth, and think for ourselfs??
God said we had free will...
God said everything is written for us...
I think we should just all read widely and undiscriminately. Making our own minds up along the way.
And I hate the idea of bound destiny, like Dylan Thomas said:
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at the close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the night"
I live by that:
Fight your destiny, challange perspectives, and do not go quietly. If your gonna go, and its a fact, then do not give them the pleasure of a meek surrender. :D just my pennys worth.
