Well, the reality is - and each of the visitors to this forum can feel it - that most of the negative posts are aimed at dramatizing the situation on ground. Its more like putting salt on the wounds than to heal.
What we need is an "Glass is half full" attitude.
I totally agree with your remarks that a good deed done by someone in Pak that makes us all proud, no matter by whom... must be lauded and advertised. To motivate others.
So I dare asking question to all negative thread openers. What is the reason/motivation or purpose behind your thread?
1) To add fuel to already volatile situation? 2) Your pessimism can't see anything positive in Pak? 3) To offer some solutions? 4) Or it is just that you are bored in your New York / Sydney / London apartment and have nothing else to do?
Point number 3 off course.
but that requires admitting the problem and its existence.
How many governments, people sectors have even acknowledge the core issues in Pakistan and finding solution being the next step.
Cleanliness, education, justice, security, journalism, media coverage and contents, production of basic food items, energy crisis including lack of electricity, noise on the streets and clean water. All deserve to be mentioned with sincereity. ( Next time you go to even a classy resturant and pray you will not be sick for next several days. Someone did not wash hands or utensils in hot water and soap. And you pay the price for someone else being lazy or irresponsible)
Why do people have to play loud music or drive a rickshaw without silencer on streets is beyond imagination.
Everyone is so worked up with political leg pulling, running after 'kursi' and name callings. Basic infrastructure is not organized so someone has to keep reminding.
Even educated people from every sector (lawyers, engineers, doctors, bank managers, college school teachers and students contribute to pollution and garbage on street) Truth hurts but someone has to speak out befor finding solution. Accepting weakness is not the solution.
Traffic with no direction is norm and is accepted by everyone. It makes everyone frustrated, get high blod pressure, accidents and late for work or to hospital. Don't you think that needs attention?.
Whats wrong with cleaning the wound and then putting clean dressings.
Do we want to put band-aid on deep wounds which need debridement?
I absolutely see and admire your intention and motivation.
Combination of positive approach to finding solution and being truthful is needed.
