1400 years ago islam came and it was ahead of its time (alot of things in the quran r becoming ture now). it gave ppl a chance and helped women (e.g. stopped the killing of baby girls … at least ppl who believed in islam stopped, redistribution of welath to the poor, respect for women e.t.c). i am sure ppl know of alot of other things that islam helped with.
1400 years later ppl say ‘times’ have changed and thats thier excuse to not follow basic islam i.e read namaz, cover up not waste time etc … how is that possible?
Waleed, Islam did indeed do alot for Muslims and continues to. It especially empowers women quite alot. I am glad that I was born into a Muslim household with basic Islamic ideals. It’s important to appreciate our religion, be thankful to God for what we have and what we hope for, and ask Him to empower us even further with infinite wisdom and knowledge.
I think the problem is Muslims want to mould Islam to their lifestyle (however messed up that maybe) instead of vice versa.
Others want to confine Islam to the Mosque and just leave it at worship and spirituality but Islam is much more than that, it’s not just a religion, its an ideology, it’s the criterion between right and wrong, good and evil, it’s the only way to achieve ones moral and spiritual potential.
Societies norms and moral values are forever changing and can never be perfect because mortal, fallible human beings made them to suit their whims and desires.
We need to look at Islam and it’s teachings with an open mind, without our not-so-perfect preconceived ideas about right, wrong and societal norms to realise Islam’s true beauty.
People have forgotten that Islam means (Peace in) Submission (to Allah), instead they choose to follow only that which suits their and their societies tastes and the rest of it becomes Mullahism.
^^ true!
there are three kind of responses
1) I will do it because Allah asked me to
2)Too hard, may be some day.
3) Its impossible in this day lets change it.
Last one is spreading fast and second is already all over.

True.
I fit in the first category regarding following the pillars of Islam, dietary laws and abstaining from the major sins and in the second category when it comes to the lesser sins.
Second category have at least realised that they are in the wrong and that’s a positive step.
The third category is a bunch of hypocrites who think by kidding themselves, they are kidding Allah or maybe they are not sure weather there is a Allah and don’t want to commit blasphemy outright because that can be quite dangerous just in case there is Allah instead they use Mullah’s etc. as a scapegoat to indirectly insult and undermine the orders of Allah and his Rasool (sallallaho alaihe wassallam). Little do they know that Allah is well aware of the amount of faith there is in their hearts and how much they believe in Islam.

Do you blame ppl if religion is difficult to follow??

Islam is not too hard or impossible to follow. To achieve something great one needs to sacrifice and face hardships, a happy content life and salvation in the hereafter don’t just come like that one need to work hard for it. Once the effort is made it all becomes easy and is a pleasure and no longer a burden, it’s Satan who makes it appear as a burden.
A person has to ask themselves what is more dearer to them, following their unrestricted lower carnal desires or the love and obedience of God and a decent upright life?
God doesn’t expect us to be angels, because flesh is weak but we can’t live like animals either, He is the Most Forgiving and the Most Merciful, He will forgive if His slaves fall into error and sin and then they repent to Him sincerely.
