No culture is perfect, we all have our flaws. Being able to criticize it does not mean that we are putting ourselves down. If we had no love for the culture we would not take the time to even speak about it or address some of the quirks or flaws people of that culture have.

Well, if you search 10 years back, you can probably find similar threads. I guess you guys like to discuss it, make fun of yourselves and go to sleep and then repeat the process while committing these things everyday yourself.

You are right, no culture is perfect, so shouldn’t the debate end there? Its one thing to address flaws/mistakes and fix them but another when it becomes a roadshow where culture of your parents/elders is made fun of, insulted.
