Salaam alaikum :slight_smile:

Im planning to go to Pakistan in August for some wedding shopping inshAllah.

But Im already looking for the stuff I want for my mendhi and sending pictures to my family in Pakistan so they can look around and stuff.

Im making a list for what you need for a mendhi, but maybe Im forgetting things. Who can help me out… even things you think which aren’t a must. My list so far:

  • mendhi
  • dholi
  • jula to sit on
  • table
  • cussions
  • suit, juti
  • entrance dupatta
  • mendhi plates
  • invitations
  • dance sticks
  • dholak
  • mendhi song cd’s
  • presents for guests
  • flower jewellery
  • candles
  • …

I was thinking about the color theme. But I do not like the color yellow. What about green/pink??

I think your list looks pretty comprehensive but you might want song books or lyrics sheets for your guests or even just a list of the songs you want them to sing.

aaaaaaaah where’s that amazing thread that had an entire list of mehndi items? :bummer:

Dont forget the mehendi ka patta on which mehendi is applied. In my mehendi we thought that my inlaws would bring the leaf but I don't it was their family tradition or if its the actual tradition that girl family arranges for their own patta. So my mehndi was done on a tissue :(

Oh yeah thanks :D I'll add it to my list. Haha I dont want it on a tissue. I have seen people do it on money too...

I have to think of everything cuz my hubby isnt Pakistani so they will come and do their own rasmein as well :) But I want all the Pakistani things in my mendhi function too ;)

That dupatta that u walk under and these days everyone has a pot thing to so the guests can just pop the money inside and the bride/ groom dont have to hold it on their hands- u can get the decorated kind in pakistan

why u forgot the MITHAEE (muh meetha karanay k liyay) or sweets or fruit or chocolates.
