How good are you in using smartphone apps?

If you eat only halal you can easily find places at zabhiha app.

To go thru the places i'd strongly recommend to follow the listing of "Tripadvisor", its good for many reasons including sightseeing places

yea i checked out tripadvisor. not so much places to go only museums and park.

zabhiha has mixed reviews of restaurants.

I want to know someone who lived there or been to raleigh, nc. thanks

I just checked Raleigh NC by google, few state park and river walk.. Doesn’t look attractive, but if you are museum lover then there are many specially Museum of Art…

lake lyne, neuse river trail… :hmmm:

Things to do in North Carolina!

I've been to Raleigh once. We went to the Downtown area, malls, restaurants, farms etc. I guess I didn't explore it much as I was with family. However I hear they're some nice museums, including some for kids, like Marbles Museum. I enjoyed driving in Raleigh. Lesser traffic than major cities, warm people too! Honestly I doubt there is any thing much to do there. Maybe I didn't see enough!

To Go

  • Jordan Lake
  • Marbels Kids museum
  • Lake Wheeler
  • If you like camping (wild or with water/power, there is really good forest area)
  • If you are OK with 4-5 hours drive, you better not miss drive to smokey mountains

To Eat

Not many in raleigh but you will find many places in and around Cary/Morisville/RTP area

Try Laziz Biryani restaurant for desi food. It is good.

Italian Kitchen in Raleigh has Halal food on request. Their food is yummy!

DC, i will be visiting there from miami to nc 12 hrs driving on thanksgiving weekend. I have marbles kids museum on my list. Where is jordan lake?

smokey mountains are in TN actually but around 4-5 hour drive. Since you are already driving 12 hours so I guess you should just skip it for now but its a MUST do for summer so perhaps next summer take a drive through smokey mountains on Blue Ridge Parkway. One of the most scenic route you will ever encounter. If you go now, you might be able to catch fall colors though

Jordan lake would be around 40-50 min drive from Raleigh. Its a very nice place to be during summer not sure if you would be able to do much in Nov

and for kids you can add Pullen park to the list. How old are the kids? Depending on their age, they will also enjoy Frankies Fun Park

I've been to NC twice and my way to South from North East and back. Once I stayed in Charlotte and once in Raleigh. Honestly, its a dead place. Lol. There isn't much to do at all. If I had an option btw smokey mountains or NC, I would choose Smokey Mt. Your kids are old enough to enjoy it. Also, a user named simply seema lives in NC. Try tagging her, maybe she'll reply.

Ugh NC. U can always go to myrtle beach in South Carolina it's like south beach for hillbillies :-)

@X2, no beach plz we have enough beaches in Miami.

I didn't like myrtle beach.. I went years ago and ummm in Winters too. So definitely eliminate that too
